Awesome food. Deceptive pricing on the chefs choice option. It’s $150 not $75 and it wasn’t clear that is per person. It’s a minimum of two people so the price is $150. Online menu shows $75pp but not stated on the menu in the restaurant...which is disappointing the food was of good quality and just enough for our appetites.More

We went for dinner at Soul Quarter after a recommendation from a friend. What a place to dine! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a smile, a welcoming fire place and taken to our table upstairs. We ordered a bottle of...Pinot Noir from Central Otago that the wait staff recommended and the beef tartare to start. Tartare was an explosion of flavour and one of the best I've had in Christchurch. Mains were just as delicious. The lamb rump and grilled salmon were cooked to perfection with beautifully paired accompaniments that complimented every part of the dish. The staff were super attentive without feeling like they were bothering you all night. Unfortunately we just could not fit dessert in, although the chocolate sphere was calling my name. Will have to save room for next time!More

Can’t rave about our lovely experience at Soul Quarter enough. Wonderful wonderful service, fabulous atmosphere, sublime food and the Lemon Curd Tart just to die for. So accomodating and we were just made to feel really special. Each of the courses of the degustation was very good. Nothing was particularly innovative but the food was cooked well. First course was toast and a huge chunk of Brie, second was cold mussels in a broth, third was a delicious chicken bit, fourth a...v good beef cheek ravioli and finally some steak. I had never been here before but when the restaurant I hoped to book was full I looked around for another option and this restaurant had good reviews so I took a punt - and I’m glad I did. The four of us went for...the trust the chef option and we had a superb meal. Each dish was delicious and none were disappointing. From the brie, to the duck breast, the scallop risotto and the mains of soufflé, groper and lamb every dish was a hit with us. The restaurant is in a modern building - but it is surprisingly atmospheric. We will be back.More

We had an early dinner but restaurant was already quite busy. We shared a lovely chicken parfait and then our own beautiful lamb and pork belly. Finished up with shared chocolate sphere…spectacular! Great service. All up, a lovely night out.
