This restaurant is absolutely delightful. The Palak Paneer was beautiful, creamy and loved the texture with the tomato. Naan bread was top notch (garlic) seemed healthier too, was a nice light bread but full of amazing garlic flavour. Best Indian cuisine we’ve had in a long time and the service was absolutely top notch, seriously, we were made to feel so welcome. Some dim lighting in the evening and candles to the tables would be an awesome and romantic addition to the atmosphere here, regardless the decor was really lovely and cosy. Thank you Coriander’s Sumner we will be back :)

Faizan was an attentive and informative charming guide to the several delicious dishes we enjoyed immensely. One of the best Indian restaurants for a long time (and we’ve been to a few all over the world ). 5 ⭐️from us and we will be back, thank you.

Our favourite local Indian restaurant now with a make over and new a owner. The menu is extensive, staff attentive, ....
It all depends on what comes from the kitchen.
Enticed by the seafood platter we were excited by the sizzle and delighted by the flavours. Soft naan, and spicy accompliments.
Warm room, warm welcome and hot food.
Great on a cold night.

Went there on valentines day and got greeted well and seated promptly. Went down hill from there when one starter never arrived which they tried to charge us for and waited with empty glasses for over an hour.mains came out 1 1/2 hours later.tried ti pack too many people in and staff seemed stressed out.wont go again

I dined here with five friends last night and it was my first visit to Corianders in Sumner. I was somewhat reluctant at first as I’m not keen on very spicy food but the meals here can be made mild or as spicy as you’d like. We all chose something different and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were very welcoming and attentive which further made our night a hit. We will be booking again.

We have had several lunches at Coriander's but this was the first time we had dinner there and we really enjoyed it. We went with an Indian friend. He thought the dinner was one of the best Indian meals that he had eaten in Christchurch. and even enthused over the naarn bread.
The service at lunch time was impeccable. The evening we were there it was a little disappointing as our drinks orders were forgotten. Nevertheless we are looking forward to returning. and exploring more of the tender, succulent and tasty dishes.

We have been here a few times and it has joined our list of favourite restaurants. The food selection is almost limitless - catering for dietary issues - vegan, vegetarian, and a great selection of gluten free dishes. The Tandoori Prawns - in fact any of their Tandoori dishes are excellent.

My partner and I visited Coriander's Sumner location last night, and we had the BEST evening. We had a young gentleman (I wish I caught his name) as our server, and he was so attentive and kind -- truly he made our evening. But beyond that, the food was great, the drinks were one point, and we just felt such a great local vibe there. A lovely local spot, not too glamorous but got everything right. Highly recommend!

Excellent little find. Mango chicken for two was superb, couldn't fault it 👌. The Naan was the highlight, believe it or not!!! Cooked fresh and hot. Not your typical cold, chewy Naan like you get elsewhere. It tasted like we were in India enjoying a family meal. Service was good, and informative discussion afterwards. All the best for opening your Timaru and Wanaka restaurants, they are in for a treat.

My partner and I booked for two as a treat for my birthday. We were created with friendly staff and seated in a comfortable location. The meals were served promptly and every serving was perfect. Hot,tasty and served with a smile. We were treated to an amazing sweet at the last min. Love to go again soon
