We were a party of 4. Two got the beef cheek board, I got the brisket Reuben, and my husband got the beef cheek sandwich. We had sides of the burnt end beans, jalapeño corn bread and cole slaw. Claudia was our server. The food was more than ample, tender beef, beans with a bit of kick, tangy coleslaw slaw and tasty cornbread. The potatoes were AMAZING! Thank you, Claudia, for making us feel very welcome. It was a lovely dining experience. Oh, the mango cider was so fresh and citrusy!

The Smoke 'n' Barrel make fabulous slow cooked meats - brisket is my favourite - a must for meat lovers. But you also have to check out the deep fried potato skins and the battered & fried jalapenos! Amazing. Thoroughly recommend checking out their food. My work place has used these guys for catering staff events - even the vegans were happy!
Staff at the Brew Academy were very friendly too.

Fantastic night at Smoke ‘n’ Barrel. So much flavour. We shared the meat plate, potato skins, double fried potatoes, veges and slaw. Loved it all - we will be back. Staff were friendly and attentive and even got to meat the owners. ❤️

Smallish portions if you are paying full price but on a first table deal it works. I know food prices have risen but I can get better value. All the food was tasty and came out in good time, the smoked cauli was a nice surprise as was the tofu. The only meat available for "to share" on the deal was the beef cheek board, really good so I imagine the other meats would be great also.

Amazing restaurant pub in the middle of Woolston. Food was amazing, great BBQ, full of flavour and you sure won't go hungry. Service was warm and friendly. Wine on tap was great too! Definitely be back!

We didn't know what to expect after being confused by the menu. The waitress was super efficient in explaining the options and we decided to get a plate of meat/ sides for 4 people. Our drinks list was very limited , but we enjoyed wines and beer beforehand.
When the platter arrived it was beautifully presented and the meat super tasty. The cornbread was to no one’s taste but we did try it. The meat was the star of the platter. Plenty for our carnivore lovers and their two partners.
Thank you Smoke n Barrel a very enjoyable evening meal.

Tasted all cuts of meat and cannot fault anything. Unbelievable flavour. Not my first experience of smoked meat so I'm over whelmed by the result.

This place really surprise us. The menù present small choices but everything is fresh and well cooked. The star is the meat and the long cook preparation. Superb the chance to have vegetarian choice with really special tofu.

This was such a pleasantly unexpected find. Walked past Smoke N Barrel on my way to get cookies from the adjacent food truck - and the smells were irresistible! I could never go past ribs of any kind- and these were amazing, fall-off-the bone goodness with just the right amount of sauce. But then I had the roasted lambs shoulder and was even MORE blown away with the flavour and juiciness of it. The accompanying slaw was also really good - unlike conventional slaw laden with mayo and more mayo, this one features a light dressing with a variety of seeds that gives it that extra crunch (the nutrition is a bonus!).Went back twice within a week in my stay there - worth going again and again!
