The Smoke 'n' Barrel make fabulous slow cooked meats - brisket is my favourite - a must for meat lovers. But you also have to check out the deep fried potato skins and the battered & fried jalapenos! Tasted all cuts of meat and cannot fault anything. Unbelievable flavour. Not my first experience of smoked meat so I'm over whelmed by the result. Would highly recommend.

Was in Christchurch as a visitor and stumbled across the van after being drawn in by the aroma. Great Brisket with Seedy Slaw.

Have been fortunate enough to sample their food a few times now and it's just fantastic, - high quality ingredients, beautifully cooked, great flavours - SO tasty. Really spoils you for alternatives.

This place really surprise us. The menù present small choices but everything is fresh and well cooked. The star is the meat and the long cook preparation. Superb the chance to have vegetarian choice with really special tofu.

This was such a pleasantly unexpected find. Walked past Smoke N Barrel on my way to get cookies from the adjacent food truck - and the smells were irresistible! I could never go past ribs of any kind- and these were amazing, fall-off-the bone goodness...with just the right amount of sauce. But then I had the roasted lambs shoulder and was even MORE blown away with the flavour and juiciness of it. The accompanying slaw was also really good - unlike conventional slaw laden with mayo and more mayo, this one features a light dressing with a variety of seeds that gives it that extra crunch (the nutrition is a bonus!).Went back twice within a week in my stay there - worth going again and again!More
