Visited here recently After a 2 mile walk I was very thirsty so the chilled kingfisher didn’t disappoint Food was very good Only fly in the ointment was my main side order of onion bahgee arived with my superb chicken tikka starter - I asked the waiter if I could have it with the main so he removed them - I cannot be sure if the same bahgees appeared later as they were over crispy Apart from this small hiccup everything else was spot on Not cheap but quality never is Highly recommend- definitely a 4.5 !

Booked a table at the Sekat Indian restaurant in Prebbleton village for an early Saturday evening. Seated immediately and asked if we wanted drinks - yes. Wide ranging menu, with lots of starters and a considerable list of curries, with the usual meats and vegetables. The Pappadoms, pickle & raita were a good start followed by lovely onion bajhies. My chicken Jalfreze was superb with a plentiful amount of basmati rice. The Peshwari Nan was nicely cooked, with coconut & sultanas. My wife has a lamb curry, whilst my daughter has chilli chicken - all scrumptious. Service was friendly and efficient. Lots of takeaways during the time we ate there. Reasonable prices. I highly recommend this Indian restaurant in the heart of Prebbleton village. JR UK resident visiting family.

This is a one of the best value lunch places in Christchurch. Clean with great service and food. Medium spicy was a good medium and the naan was lovely. Will definitely return.

Eat here alot. Had my birthday dinner and joked about a free Naan. At the end of the dinner they came out with a chocolate Naan with a candle on it. Was a laugh and great. Food there is always great. Recommend it.

It was a cooler midweek Christchurch evening, and we needed a break from home cooking. Having just returned from Fiji after five years we were acclimatizing, but also exploring our new found choice of restaurants. We had in the afternoon walked past Saket on our way home from the city and staying local with family. It looked inviting and a good Indian is always better on a cold night. We weren't disappointed. We took our own wine, a nice Yalumba Red, and were surprised that Saket does not charge corkage. In fact, their wine list looked very inviting and affordable so we may just order from their menu next visit. We started with Onion Bhaji, predictable I know, but one of the better we have experienced and would order again. For mains we shared a lamb Madras and Aloo Jeera, a dry potato dish with cumin and other spices. Both were exceptionally good, and due to the generous serving portions were enjoyed for lunch the following day. Saket's chef is genuine, the food was hotter than many Indian we have tried, but in a very satisfying way. And we did request 'Indian medium hot'. Nice to be offered a choice though. Saket is positioned between Thai and Japanese restaurants, both we will try on another night, but will definitely be making Saket a regular mid week pilgrimage.

We had dinner here on a reasonably busy night. Special mention to our server was Gaurika and she was outstanding, so polite and quick to get us seated and ordered. I could see she was keeping an eye on us without being intrusive- when my partner dropped his fork she quickly replaced it, topped up our water quickly and cleared away dishes/got our mains out quickly when our entree was done The food was delicious - we ordered the onion bhaji which were cooked perfectly - super crunchy and not dry or soaked in oil, which I've often found when I've ordered them from other places in the past. Our mains were chicken jahlfrezi and chicken do payaza which were both flavourful and complemented beautifully by the fluffy plain naan. The restaurant had a lovely ambiance for a nice dinner, not too loud and the toilets were very clean. Prices were very reasonable too. Overall we thought it was the best Indian meal we'd had in years (and we've had a LOT!) and we can't wait to go back. Thanks team!

In the new Prebbleton Mall, it is an unassuming restaurant, dark decor and a mix of chairs and bench seats, the benches are a bit high for the tables. Service was friendly and efficient. We always always have Butter Chicken among the mix of dishes when dining Indian, this is always a good benchmark to judge the food overall. We found the dishes under-seasoned and the rice quantity inadequate for the number of people. Prices were fairly typical. Would probably try elsewhere in future.

Unassuming restaurant in an ordinary part of town. Once inside, however, it’s a different story. Huge menu & very good wine list. Everything that we ordered was excellent. We all shared with each other and we all suffered food envy, even though we all would not have changed our orders. Absolutely cracking restaurant and highly recommended - one of the best Indian restaurants I’ve been to.

They were super busy with walk in’s , booked tables and takeaway orders . Even though you could tell the staff were so busy they remained friendly and professional. The food was delicious and a special mention to the combination platter entree, everything on there was delicious. Give this place a try .. you won’t regret it .

Since discovering this restaurant we don’t need to try any other as the food, service and pricing is amazing. The staff are so friendly and on our second visit recalled how spicy we liked our food which was so impressive.
