The food, atmosphere and service were all amazing. My husband took me here for my birthday dinner. We sat at the bar tables which was awesome because we saw everything going on. The staff were so friendly and chatty, it was a whole experience. The...food was Devine, meat cooked to perfection so it melted in your mouth. I would eat here every night if I could. Ezra was such an awesome waiter we felt right at home.More

We were visiting Christchurch and went to 5th Street for a celebratory dinner after seeing TripAdvisor reviews. The previous reviews and ratings were so correct. Table for 2 - we started with the Green pea falafel w tahini cream, pickled onion & tamirind chutney. Outstanding...flavours and textures. The pomegranate seeds complemented and enhanced all the other flavours. For mains we shared the medium sized Crispy cauliflower w mango amba, marinated feta & toasted chilli and a large sized Roasted market fish w ras el hanout, chimichurri, pickled cucumber & labneh. What a meal. The flavours of every plate was exceptional and the gurnard (market fish) fillet cooked to perfection. Finished dinner with Shortbread gelato affogato w espresso & choice of liqueur (we both chose frangelico). A great evening with pleasant but not overwhelming service and tremendous food. Highly recommended.More

I've been to 5th Street twice before, when they first opened. Both visits were excellent which prompted my 3rd visit. This time, based on my high recommendations, we were a party of 6 adults decided to go here for a long awaited family re-union. The...first two visits, I believe we had the head of front of house. Service was excellent. They crouched down to seem less imposing and hear our orders better. The food was amazing. This 3rd visit was 180 shift. It was a really busy night as always. The server seemed disinterested and didn't really offer to go through the menu. Drinks took 20mins to come. There was a long lag between dishes being brought out and we were not kept informed or checked on, and no apologies for the long wait. It would have been fine if the food was on point. It wasn't. The steak was burnt and hard to chew in some places. In the past, the food was excellent, complimented by the supreme service. Unfortunately it was a let down on both points on the 3rd visit.More

We had our end of year work function at 5th Street but as they were full we were set up across the road at Hello Sunday which they also own. We were a little concerned that this would not be as good as being in...the restaurant, however it was fabulous. We had two dedicated servers who were amazing and who catered for our every need. There were no delays in getting drinks and the service was outstanding. The food was absolutely divine - there was nothing to fault at all. Every course was beautifully presented, tasty and plentiful. Highly recommend this restaurant.More

Surprisingly good, funny location and outside appearance, but great setting and ambiance inside. Very attentive staff, and great food. An excellent experience.

Must be the most delicious food in Christchurch. I’m vegetarian and the middle dishes were perfect for that as was the falafel starter. That was enough and didn’t actually have the main although my son had the lamb and needed a doggy bag. Too full...for desert. Love the sharing too. So many interesting flavours. Would definitely go back. YumMore

Picked this restaurant based on the reviews and so pleased we did. Definitely recommend calling ahead for a booking, it was packed when we went. The drinks menu is varied and substantial, and for the meal they recommend a couple of small plates then one...each of a medium and large plate-all to share. Literally couldn't fault anything, the food was incredible and the service impeccable at every point. Perfect spot for a special night out.More
