Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Thought 3% surcharge on credit card a bit steep, sign should be printed on machine. However service an atmosphere great an nacho meal best ever. Flat whites tasteless an too milky. Scrambled eggs delicious.

Amazing Danish Pastries...made on site and beyond the usual Danish. We stopped on the way back to takeaway some! Cornish Pasties also excellent.

After driving past the old Blue Duck for many years on the way to and from Wainui we stopped in this time . That stop was engendered by a good review for the new owners we read somewhere in a magazine What a magnificent meal...I had ---- a platter of pancakes . My wife's lunch was also very good and the range of choices all superb But the pancake meal with fruit (Banana orange etc) a doughnut , liquid chocolate and maple syrup was outstanding. I could not finish it ! I have travelled quite a few times to the States -the home of pancakes - but this meal of pancakes was the best I have ever hadMore

We stumbled across this café by accident and was very happy that we did. The coffee was great and the scones (freshly baked) were just like Mum used to bake. We sat infront of the wood burning fire and could have spent the whole afternoon...there. If you are passing 'please' drop in an enjoy the food and the friendly staff.More

Have stopped several times for coffee and they do an exceptional flat white. We went there for lunch when they were serving a $30 rib meal and wow it was good. Large amount of tender ribs with delicious sauce and a side of crispy chips...and tasty salad. I really hope they serve that again!More

The cafe has changed ownership and name - now known as the "The White Rabbit Cafe". But the food and service remain great. Menu has change and they have done some redecorating but still a great place for locals and those passing by on their...way to or back from AkaroaMore

Excellent food and service. Eggs Benedict was perfect, very generous with the (top quality) salmon and loved the homemade hash brown. Smashed avocado looked fantastic, will be back to try it. Great coffee. Great service.

This lovely wee spot, nestled on the Akaroa Road juction with Gebbies Pass Road, epitomises what defines the art of capturing and satisfying very best in the basic human range of tastes. Forget guys like Heston Blumenthal that employ smoke, foam, hot air and dry...ice to charge you 50 bucks a bite. The chefs at Gebbie's uses simple, fresh ingredients from locals. Stuff like free range eggs that TASTE of freedom, foraging and happy layers. And, home cured bacon from corner butchers that, again, TASTE real and leave a real sense of "happy oink" that suggests piggy didn't die in vain. The crowning touch? Genuine, homemade hashed brown potatoes from grated, best quality spuds that appear to have been lightly blanched, then cut into pie slice shaped wedges and fried to bronnzed PERFECTION- not burnt to crisp. My Lizzie had the Smashed Avocado on sourdough with poached egg and dukkah. She allowed me a taste. Until I tasted it, I did not realise just how GENEROUS she had been. I've eaten A LOT of avocado. This was THE best ever served to us in a restaurant. The eggs? We've covered that. THE BEST. It isn't priced like a Dennys breakfast. Neither should it be. It leaves them ALL in the proverbial dust. Well worth the drive. Thanks team!More

We almost drive past again. Busy but much quicker than Little River and friendlier staff, thanks. Good blackboard and cabinet options. She loved her eggs bene and the date and cinnamon scrolls were fantastic [had to get another!]. Hot coffee. The building was a bit...noisy [echoes]. Glad we stopped!More
