Came here for drinks and nibbles with friends. We had 6 at our table and we enjoyed our time here. I do however think that there were some aspects of our visit that could have been better, or need attention to, for this place to...be better. The service for starters needs improvement. We had to ask staff to come over to our table so that we could order. They said it was table service but we had to ‘pester’ them to order drinks and food. They never once came over to see if our drinks were okay or if we wanted more. And they never came over to check if our food was okay. The music was just a fraction too loud. You had to raise your voice quite a bit to speak over it, which was annoying, it was only 7pm! The cocktail list looked impressive. I had two and they were both really disappointing. Both in taste, and appearance. I will stick to wine next time there. The food was enjoyed by all immensely. Well done chefs. However the food smell lingered on us and we all the next day had to launder our entire outfit including jackets and scarfs as they smelt like fat from the kitchen. Quite a cool set up and welcoming décor. Speaking of welcoming, dogs are allowed inside! :) Lots of outdoor seating too if the weather is in your favour. Horrendous service- staff literally watched us walk in, were doing absolutely nothing and made me wait while they leaned against the counter before “showing” us to my table (i was pointed in the direction). Had to wait another 15-20 before being served drinks (and no,...they were not busy), and food came out incorrect and exceptionally average. One poor bloke was running around and trying to serve everyone while the other staff did nothing. Dirty plates had to be asked to be cleared before desert. Not impressed, it was a birthday dinner, too. Will not be returning, customer service needs some real work.More

We went to Evil Genius yesterday. We have been quite a few times before, and the food has always been good but yesterday it was very average. The Bao buns were not as good as normal. It was also freezing inside. Overall extremely disappointing.

I've been here twice with different groups of friends and we absolutely loved it. Evil Genius works best with at least 4 people, each person shares with the group what they ordered. The spice and flavours are phenomenal. The venue also has a beautiful outside...area for drinks with a view of the sea. Only comment would be it's a little squashy. Probably would pay to always reserve your table in advance to make sure you will all be seatedMore

I decided to take my husband here for lunch for an early Fathers Day, we are both following a low sugar low carb way of eating, so a lot of menu checking always happens before we go out. The menu we were given was totally...different to what is on the website, I queried the waitress and she wasn't extremely helpful and said the internet must be wrong. We finally decided on the Deep Fried Chicken which was delicious but not exactly suitable for either of us. I then requested a decaf coffee and I was told they were out. We should have got up and walked out but im not into doing that plus our toddler was already being a pain. So water it was.More
