Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Oh my goodness, I never knew about this place and now that I do I'll be a regular!! The donuts are soooo good. I tried pandan (absolutely the best donut I've had) and tiramisu. So fresh!! Can't wait to try other flavours

We were craving for an asian bakery in Christchurch and found this gem in Riccarton. Love everything with ube, in Indonesia we call it ubi (pronounce oo-bee), it is a sweet potato similar with kumara in New Zealand.

They have a wide range of donuts here and the staff is always very helpful and friendly. A little bit on the sweet side for me, but still quite good.

I was so moved by the taste and quality of these donuts, I was compelled to express my feelings through ancient Japanese poetry. Searching for donuts? Why not try Panadero? You won't regret it.

Im not a big sweet eater but I liked the look of all the buns in the cabinet at this bakery. I ordered a donut and it was delidious, filled with custard and soft dough. Will have to go back and try some of the other items from their cabinet.

Was recommended this place by a friend and it was so worth the trip. I haven't experienced much Philipino food so walking in and seeing all the dark purple donuts made from purple yams was strange. Its a nice little cafe with adequate seating and complementary water to help yourself to. We asked the friendly staff which donuts were the best and ended up going with a strawberry filled purple yam donut...not only did we think they were reasonably priced but they were also SO DELICIOUS! I didn't expect it to taste as good as it did so we will definitely be visiting this place to try new flavours next time we are in Christchurch.

The donuts are AMAzing. The pandesal is AMAZING. The pork bun is ALSO AMAZING. I love everything about this hidden gem, from the decoration, to the window into the kitchen, to the friendly staff, to the food. I recommend this place to everyone I met. Tonight I found out a workmate of mine share the same love for Panadero and we told a bunch of our other workmates that they have to try it. I love the interactive nature of their Instagram and the pics of all the new flavours of donuts. I have been known to make trips from out of town, into Christchurch to specifically get a donut and go back home (which costs me more in petrol than the donut itself) but so worth it. Obsessed. Everyone has to try it.

Visited this little hidden shop a few time before on the way home, only had snack buns from here so no beverages or lunches/sweets, and only rating about the buns and the service here this time. People here are very nice even after the refurbishment of the bakery/cafe. The buns hasn't changed its taste either which is great!! My favourites are the coconut one and taro one!! Very cheap as well so could try a few different flavours. Will visit again!

I went to this bakery by chance when me and my friend is exploring church corner and the shops around. Tbh I am never a fan of Donut, however I have a soft spot for purple colour food and I love Taro, so when I look at the Ube donut I decided to give it a try. Out of our surprise it is pretty good! I love the firm texture of the donut also I like how nicely it is fried, got the crispy feeling on the outside but inside is firm and moist! If you are a person who like dessert with texture this is Ube Donut is what you need to try. Overall it taste like an ordinary Donut with hints of taro, which is something special. However hint of oil is quite strong, not sure why. Might the choice of oil quality or the repeating used of the oil. However, I would definitely come back for it again some time hopefully they could use better quality oil. Overall, it is a bakery worth trying. Me and my friend love the donut!
