Always good food, both menu and cabinet options. Here for brunch. Scrambled eggs plentiful and tasty. Good coffee. Unfortunately, due to the hard surfaces, it is always noisy and hard to have an across table conversation.

Seems to be one of the most popular spots in this now vibrant quarter of town. Decent opening hours probably have something to do with that, but the quality coffee served up quickly in house was definitely a win for us, as was the ambiance....So handy for our stay at Southwark Apartments across the courtyard!More

This place was full by 7:30am The coffee was GREAT! and the savory muffin was HUGE. Akaroa salmon fillet is also on the menu as a side. The eggs were poached perfectly accompanied by real homemade potato cakes (yum). Highly recommend this place for as...a meetup for brekkie.More

This place was busy and as soon as we saw & tasted the food we knew why. Really nice, fresh selections including many flavorsome vegetarian and vegan options. Nice coffee and green smoothie. The service was fast and friendly. We will be back! :)

After reading the reviews I have to say unknown chapter did not disappoint. It is a very popular place and I was very impressed with the efficiency of the service. You have a choice of ordering from the menu or selecting something from the display...counter. I chose the ham sandwich and thought it was very good. Definitely worth a visit if in the areaMore

Had a great breakfast here. Often sourdough with breakfasts can be too toasted and very difficult to eat - but the bread here was fresh - so this was good. Generous avocado, and overall very tasty. Also - the coffee was good and staff friendly...and welcoming. A cabinet full of muffins, sandwiches, cakes, salads which all looked delicious, which inspired us to grab something for later as well.More

Went on mother's day morning. Place packed. Amazing that the drinks then food was served within 20 minutes and looked and tasted great. Lovely options on menu and the take away options looked delicious and fresh

We stopped here to meet some friends for coffee and brunch, and it was a bit hit and miss. Coffees were very good, but the food had its ups and downs. The eggs Benedict were great and the bacon served with them was nice and...crispy. The quesadilla on the other hand wasn't that nice and lacked a lot of flavour - it looked great but sadly taste did not live up to that. We had some sweet treats from the cabinet too, and the sticky lemon cake was definitely the highlight. It is a very busy and popular place, mostly for walk ins as only large groups can book. Maybe today was just an off day?More

The reviews are right, this place is definitely worth the visit. Went for breakfast and while the place was very busy the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Food arrived very quickly especially considering the amount of patrons. Ordered the French toast and the Benedict...with bacon and both were excellent. Highly recommendMore

This busy cafe runs like a well oiled machine, yet retains the personal touch. Good selection of cabinet food for all dietary needs. Highly recommended

The flat whites were excellent. The veggie avo toast with egg was delightful and the French toast is a must. Perfectly located near the sights in downtown Christchurch.

Coffees arrived literally after 1 minute. Breakfast took no more than 10 minutes, even though the place was almost full. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
