Good, but not perfect

Reasonably priced, massive portions and perfectly cooked chicken katsu. Only thing is the sauce was way to sweet for my liking, would be good to tone that down. Chairs weren’t exactly comfortable but fairly decent for a random place near CHC airport

Overpriced and Average food

Average and over priced. The amount of food that we received on a set menu was small and over priced, Really disappointed in the place and will not return

Was looking forward to a leisurely meal with family and whilst the food was great it arrived essentially all at once and we felt pressured to finish and free up the table. Not a great experience given reasonably high prices

Don’t bother unless you like being frustrated.

We were seated and ordered pretty quickly. The food started coming out an hour later. Some of us got our food well before the others. Those of us that ordered from the teppanyaki menu received everything out of order. We got the fried vegetables first. Then 20 min later the meat. Another 20 min and we received the rice and miso soup ( the soup was supposed to be at the start and who wants steamed rice after you’ve already eaten the vegetables and meat). I’ve been to plenty of teppanyaki restaurants before and this was by far the worst experience.

We took a table along the wall, rather than sit in front of the skilful Chef who cooks to order. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed the artistically arranged plates of delicious sashimi and sushi seafood that could not have been any fresher. Beware the small green cone on the plate is hot wasabi (horseradish) not avocado! This restaurant is conveniently located at the Airport, so well worth a visit if you have time to spare before travelling. Thoroughly recommended.

What a great experience, brilliant chef's performing their cooking skills with the precision of a top showman. Service was very good and the food extremely tasty being suitable for everyone. Well worth a visit and I have to admit I was impressed as it wouldn't have been a place I would have chosen to go. Daughters suggestion as she'd been many times finding it consistently excellent. Will we go again certainly will.

Great to get out of lockdown

Excellent teppanyaki on a quiet winter's night. The Chef kept us well entertained with he usual mix of flames, magic, banter and flying morsels. Wonderful touch with the to hankyou in salt, written in reverse bottom up. A superb skill. We will be Back.

Perfect when overnight at the airport

I love this restaurant. It is an easy walk from airport hotels. This was my first visit since Covid lockdown. It was as good as I remember - I had the SuRa set menu - great food, fast and delicious. Service wasn’t as slick as I remember but the food was good, ambience was good. Highly recommended when staying overnight at the airport.

Good spot for a quick Lunch. Sushimi was really good. Tuna Salmon & white fish. Provided Gluten Free Soy. Fried Rice was nice and tasty.

Quantity over quality

For those who like big meals, this restaurant is ideal. Just don’t expect the quality to match the size if the meals. We ordered a variety of dishes. Most were average but one dish was just an insult! I ordered Agedashi Tofu - a dish I’m very familiar with and that I order almost every time I eat at a Japanese restaurant, which is very often. For those who don’t know, Agedashi tofu is a dish that consist of two main elements - Deep fried tofu and a delectable broth made with a dashi stock … then topped of with various extras like spring onion, grated ginger, radish, bonito flakes etc. However this was totally different. I got deep fried tofu in a sticky, sickly sweet gel-type caramelly sugar sauce that did not resemble any Agedashi tofu I ever had or ever heard of before. Now, I get it that many restaurants want to put a spin on an original… but this showed no resemblance whatsoever. Maybe if the dish wad called “deep fried tofu in thick caramel gel” it would have been more appropriate. And maybe some diners would like that (although I doubt it). Just a note of appreciation here - I complained and the manager came to talk to me. Was very graceful about it and didn’t charge me for it. Hence the two stars instead of just one. We also ordered a large plate of assorted sashimi. I was disappointed to see that it consisted of two thirds salmon and one third white fish. So not that assorted and it was very thickly cut, although the choice of how sashimi is cut is probably just a personal choice. Also ordered crispy fried scallops. It was crispy fried alright, but in a dough so thick that it completely overwhelmed the delicate tast of the scallops. So all and all a huge disappointment. Thankfully the sake we ordered made up for a waste of time and money.

A nice restaurant with enjoyable experience

We had an enjoyable dinner in this restaurant. It is quite near the airport. Booking is highly recommended. The food is delicious and the staffs are friendly. We particularly like the tepenyaki icecream.

Oh dear - looks like we'll need to find a new Teppanyaki

Oh dear - looks like we'll need to find a new Teppanyaki joint. Burnt the egg, obliterated the roll instead of the fast slice with the blades, the fried rice was burnt rice ( see the previous egg ), scallops were black on one side and untouched on the reverse, and the venison was so well done it was charred. The floor mats were sticking to our shoes which was just gross. To top that off the small saki amounted to two thimbles. Appears to have had a change of ownership and has suffered immensely. Very much put a sour note on a special occasion. In 2016 the experience was awesome, which made last nights experience quite disapointing. Definitely won't be going back

Expensive, small plate of stir fry veges, gluggy rice and steak for $42. All arriving 15min apart. Not sure what this place is trying to be but don't charge high prices for avg food and mediocre service.
