We’ve been to this cafe several times now and have always been impressed with the menu and range of cabinet food. The coffee is really good too. Had brunch and it arrived promptly, nicely served and enjoyable. We like the laid back atmosphere, it can get busy at times, but thats probably a good sign.

My wife, daughter and I stopped into our favorite cafe for brunch, the brand new menu is amazing. I have been looking for somewhere that does chicken & waffles and when I saw it on the menu I had to try it. Chicken was spiced and cooked perfectly, waffles were delicious and the sauce was awesome. My 1 year old daughter enjoyed her pancakes from the kids menu and my wife who is a vegetarian and dairy free enjoyed her meal also (plenty for her to choose from as well). The guy on the front counter was very helpful and cheerful and they still do the best coffee in town.

The Chicken and waffles are pretty special, and i think kids pancakes are our biggest selling kids meal to. SO pleased your wife was able to find something for her to have. Will pass on all the great things you ssaid to our fantastic team. Cheers :-)

Just WoW!
There's huge range of Coeliac friendly options in the dedicated GF cabinet and from their menu.
The staff are very knowledgeable in Coeliac issues and it's a relief when speaking to them about Coeliac disease food prep. Oh and all with a friendly smile.
My 2 Coeliac daughters were in heaven and sooo happy which made me a little teary eyed.

Really hard sometimes to get yummy food for coeliacs so this was something we wanted to do when we set up the new cafe.

Had one hour for lunch, stood in queue for 30 minutes waiting to be served, 4 customers ahead of us. Food came after 10 minutes. Salmon tart although very expensive at $17 was dry and unappetising, Lemon cupcake was also dry and not pleasant to eat. More staff needed front of house, cabinet food to be assessed regularly for freshness. Won’t hurry to go back

Hi Jill,
Standing in queue for 30 minutes, I find this hard to believe as we never have had people standing in the queue for that amount of time. If the queue is backed up normally a chef will come out and help.
I am disappointed that you have obviously not taken any of this up with the FOH manager or the owners, although you maybe the lady who sent us a complaint which we then dealt with.
The salmon tart is never dry as it had egg and cream mix. relish and cream cheese in it. The cost reflects the cost and is not expensive, costs have risen 35% in the last year and if i was to charge what I should be charging it would be $21, but we keep it as low as we can, this also comes with a garden salad which you failed to mention. We don't do a lemon cupcake, it may have been the lemon and coconut muffin which is Gluten free, these also are normally moist as we sell so many of them that they are fresh, I will however take this up with the manufacturer re this as we have never had any complaints before.
Re staffing we normally do have extra staff on but we also need to give our 8 staff their entitlement of breaks, and you might have come in when that was happening. Sometimes you come and your at the front of the queue and others you are at the end. We are not slow at service, unless we have a customer that can hold us up. A suggestion if you know what you are after and are short on time is to ring ahead so we can have it ready for you.
With regards to the cabinet food this is checked on a daily basis but we are so busy that we turn over the food regularly to the point of it being made fresh daily. I have 3 to 4 chefs on a day to keep up with the food requirements.

Ordered two coffees and two muffins. Had muffins slightly heated and they were fabulous, well finished and still no coffee. After seeing the barista make a takeaway coffee for another customer who came in after ourselves I went and asked for our money back, however, my mother asked for them to be made in take away cups. Order hadn't been forgotten, they'd just decided to make us wait. Took 25mins from when we ordered to when we received, left with them as had places to be. They weren't even busy. It's the second time in 6mths I've been disappointed in the service from the cafe.

As a local we often go to this Cafe as they are Coeliac friendly. However, have had a few issues with them this year. One when I ordered bacon and eggs from the sides. They cooked it with toast so I had to for eggs on toast with bacon. For a birthday a surprise morning tea shout was delivered to me at work. They sent it a day earlier with no note so was eaten before they rang the work and told us. They blamed the organizer, no apology nor any offer to correct it. Today placed order, mine didn't come so went and asked about it. Young woman said oh, I didn't put it on your order. Couldn't even ask if I'd like it.
At the stage we won't be returning, most disappointed, use to be so good but certainly gone down in customer service.

Sorry you felt you had to bring up the morning tea shout again after this had been resolved, we also did an apology and a full refund for this, which i see you also failed to mention. The team did let the people know who it was for but this got lost in translation and obviously is a bug bear for you. We did not send it a day earlier, we sent it on the day that it was requested, we also did not blame the organizer. I find it funny you say that no apology was given or any offer to correct it. Like i said we gave many apologies, and I can forward the emails if you need to see it, also a full refund was offered and given.
RE your recent visit I will need to talk to the staff to find out what happened according to them, if there is more training needed then I will ensure this is done by the managers.
I am very surprised that they didn't offer to get what was missing made for you as they are all well trained, I am wondering if maybe you had one of the new team members, but this is something that we teach early on to ensure we give great customer service.
Did you talk to either of our managers or the two owners Mike or Tania who were there and could have sorted something for you. It is a shame that you feel our customer service has gone down, when clearly we have many many 4 and 5 star reviews about how wonderful our customer service is, I also get alot of customers contact me directly to tell me how wonderful our team is. I am so sorry that the day you came you felt that you weren't treated to our great customer service. All the best and I hope you find a cafe that lives up to your expectations.

CBD Cafe was AMAZING for our family which includes two young coeliacs. The staff were super friendly and knowledgeable. There were many gluten free options (they have a dedicated GF cabinet and tongs) and the food was simply delicious. I would highly recommend CBD cafe to anyone, but especially those with coeliac disease. The service was exceptional. We will definitely come back whenever we visit Blenheim.

My wife and I are quite new to Blenheim and have been in CBD a few times, the food is really good. We took a friend yesterday and was raving about the place before we got there. When I ordered three breakfasts and drinks, I ordered my tea with a spoon of honey (I am insulin dependent diabetic and use honey instead of sugar or artificial sweeteners where possible) as I always do. I was told that the cafe would 'have to charge me' for the honey......I expressed my surprise and said no thank you. We spent about $80, as we have done on several occasions. I have never been charged for a spoon of honey for my tea in hundreds of cafes across New Zealand; I was not angry, simply dissapointed...it would be like having a cake and when they offer you cream and you decline, asking for partial refund; petty! What a shame, my friend from out of town was also stunned.....we are eating breakfast somewhere else today and in future. Whilst we are not daily customers, we would of at least been weekly customers, but for a spoon of honey, custom lost. I can certainly recommend the food, but not that attitude.

Thank you for the nice words re the food. Sorry to hear that you thought that our response was petty re the honey, we normally don't have any issues from customers with charging for honey as it is a very expensive extra.
I do understand being a diabetic myself, which is why we supply stevia free of charge on the tables.
As you have said we don't charge for cream on cakes if it is offered with it on the tag in the cabinet as this has already been included in the price, but a side of honey hasn't been, the team member in question did come and check with me re a SIDE of honey which i said to charge for as this is normally a good amount of honey in a side dish, I wasn't asked for a teaspoon of honey, but a side and i was unaware this was for a teaspoon of honey for a cup of tea.
The team have been instructed that anything over an above of what is offered on the menu or tag in the cabinet would incur an additional charge as is the standard practice at most cafes we have been too around NZ and Overseas
I'm sorry that you feel you cant return due to a misunderstanding/ miscommunication.

Called in to the new site for a quick weekend breakfast and coffee and, despite Covid level 2 restrictions, we found the place pretty busy but well oganised and ready to deliver up some first class food.
The selection available had something for everbody and the cooded food was of an excellent quality and presentation. Wait times were minimal and all staff were attentive to customers.
This cafe has recently re-opened after a fire in the old premices and its great to have them back in town. We will definately be back for more.

While on holiday in Blenheim we were in search of a cafe and came across CBD eatery and thought we would give it a go. From the moment we walked in, the staff were so friendly and helpful. There was a massive cabinet food selection that all looked delicious. The coffee is probably one of the best coffees I’ve had. It was perfect, and that’s saying something! It seems like such a cool work crew, they were all friendly and happy. Food was delicious, coffee was amazing, the cafe was clean and it was such a cool experience. Thanks heaps team, we will definitely recommend this place.

We arrived at the busiest time, right on mid-day. The place was packed, yet they were able to give us a table that had just been wiped down and sanitized. We ordered and expected to have to wait as there were so many people there. But, no, we were quickly waited on and our orders were taken. Shortly after they were at the table, the service was just great. The head staff member was on the job and the atmosphere was light and humerous. All the staff had big smiles and each time they passed our table, they would ask if there was something else we require. The Coffee was hot and enjoyable. The ICECREAM was just great.

Found this place. Amazing cabinet full of yummy colourful food, great menu and you can buy their own brand of relish, Worcester sauce and other yum condiments. Totally recommend for brekky, brunch or lunch! Delicious

Enjoyed an awesome breakfast here and the coffee was superb. They have a great menu and a fantastic array of cabinet food, including some lovely looking salads and plenty of gluten free options. Very friendly owner. Was super impressed and would highly recommend for breakfast or lunch.

My partner is gluten free and loved the vast amount of hot and cold lunch options. There was so much to choose from savoury to sweet. We assume the owner was the amazing gentleman behind the counter who served us. Even came up to us half way through to make sure we liked our meal. Very glad we found this place .

We were in Blenheim for the first time today and as we walked around the centre noticed that this was the busiest place so resolved to go back for lunch. All those other people were right and I just want to echo the other positive reviews....our lunch was superb and the choices of salads,pasta,pies,sandwiches etc was brilliant.
Service was polite,yet friendly.
