We came in for dinner tonight (4th Nov) and had a great time! The food was good, but what made it all special was our fabulous waiter (Cade, I believe, apologies otherwise!) We are basically a family of cretins and yet he took our loud,...sometimes inappropriate and energetic natures in his stride, had MANY laughs and certainly added to our night!! Thanks so much Cade (if thats not your name it is now!) You are definitely a great asset to the team!!! I hope your management knows how lucky they are!!More
We came here to try the Wellington burger on a plate entry and were not disappointed. Good food, good service and great company.
What a fantastic place. Food was very tasty. Staff were super friendly and able to make recommendations. Nice gin selection.
This is such a fun and lively place! Stopped here for dinner and loved it. Had great range of beers, food and friendly service. I had a salad and added steak strips and crispy beetroot bites which was delicious!
We had the beef Wellington… the beef was tender, the onions well caramelized, pastry was fluffy and the gravy was to die for. All in all the best I have ever had.
Lovely spot to sit and relax outside. The menu was good and the food great. Had yummy fish dish and lamb shank. Service was great too
A group of six of us ate here. It had been recommended by our B&B host. They had a good selection of beers and a great draft cider. You can sit outside. It's by the road, but comfortable. The only problem for us is the...smokers. Inside had loads of room at lots of different types of seating. We sat at a high bar dinning table. Good padded seats. Staff were excellent. The only reason this did not get 5 stars is that we all agreed that because our beef Wellington was placed on the top of mash potatoes, the nice pastry ended up soggy and more like suet. We suggest have it at the side and push a side of veg as we forgot to order veg with it. The steak inside was excellent.More
We ordered a sharing starter followed by steak, and tagliatelle mains. The former arrived quite promptly but the mains took forever (just under an hour) to arrive . By this time on Sat. afternoon the place was so busy - and extremely noisy - it...spoiled our meals. This place is ok for a lad’s drink, but forget enjoying a meal as a couple. My steak was reasonable - no better, no worse.More
While we have visited the Tasting Room before it has been a number of years. It still has that good feel of a successful restaurant and bar. This time it was pretty busy and like of lot of modern venues it was noisy. Nevertheless, my...wife had a lovely NZ rose and I had a really good NZ hazy ale. The pumpkin risotto and my fish and chips were really good - plentiful, tasty and hot.More
Dined here on a Sunday evening. Very vibrant Gastro Pub/Restaurant. Service was very welcoming. My husband enjoyed his main (chicken burger). The beef Wellington was tasty and cooked well, but I couldn't find any portobello mushrooms and shaved ham that I thought should have been...inside the bun, which stated on the menu. Very disappointed 😞. For $40 I expected to get what it said on the menu. Not sure whether we will return again.More
Raced in half an hour before kitchen closed. Ordered the Beef Wellington and it did not disappoint. Absolutely superb.
Amazing Wellington spot!!! Run by Dunc and Kev, their passion for hospitality shows through with epic service, amazing drinks and yummy food offerings! Great outside on a sunny day or cosy inside when its chilly! Great spot! 🤩
The tasting room was okay. The beer battered fish was not available and there were only two market fish left. Luckily we got the fish but the rosti was different tasting. The chips were nice but the other mains were average. We won’t be back....It is a great place for a drink and some bar snacks.More
The welcome was flawless, the beef Wellington however was not. He pastry was raw inside and the beef flavour was lost in the mushroom pate. The potatoes that accompanied it were over cooked and some were even a little burnt. Such a shame as this...was supposed to be a special occasion 😥More
