Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Over the last year I have visited Rasa a number of times with both family and friends. The food, Malaysian/South Indian has always been top quality. They are also open for lunch and both dinner and lunch have always been excellent. I have tried Dosa...at a number of Wellington restaurants but always keep coming back to Rasa. great if you are gluten free. And the whole menu is very well priced.More

This place is so busy and usually very full but it has excellent food and is well worth going to. We enjoyed the mixed platter of starters which we had with some roti. The spice level was mild. We decided to add a dish of...Nasi Goreng with chicken as this is a favourite dish of ours. What did take me by surprise was how spicy it was - it was to my taste, quite a bit above mild and almost too hot for me to enjoy. Their mango lassi drink was really refreshing. In all, an excellent place to eat.More

We loved our food at Rasa: a goat curry and a Goan fish curry with rice. The dishes were really tasty and the service was good.

Fantastic restaurant - found it on a YouTube video of Wellington and decided to give it a go! We had an early lunch at 12pm so had the restaurant to ourselves. Waiter was polite and helpful. Food was delicious and excellent price! We had two...curries with rice and roti. The roti was delicious. Would definitely recommendMore

What an experience!! Maybe we got the wrong night, but, what a blinking shambles! One large table kept getting larger and larger (and taking up a huge amount of the already busy staffs time) and pushing other diners into weird predicaments! They establishment kept on...jamming people (who didn't have bookings) into what little space they had left! Yeah, the food was OK, the prices there abouts, the staff not really knowing what the management team was trying to do, but eventually we got served. The toilets are through the kitchen where you had to be aware of the chefs cooking and all the pot handles sticking out across the access area. Would I go back there, probably not! Sorry Rasa!More

My go to place for Malaysian style curries is Rasa Malaysia. This establishment has been on Cuba Street forever it would seem. Our penultimate meal in Wellington was to truck on down to the Rasa for our farewell lunch. For lunch the Rasa had a...good menu with dishes very priced at around the $12 mark. Add a Roti and you were being fed for less trhan 15 Bucks, a good deal in my opinion. The wait staff took our orders and very quickly our two mains were produced. I had a Goat Curry which came with a generous helping of rice and a Roti. The Goat had been slow braised and was very tender. The curry sauce was excellent, and a Tiger Beer set off my lunch perfectly. My companion had ordered the Laksa and a big bowl of gravy with plenty of chicken and vegetables and had no complaints Upside – Good basic food, great flavours, no frills, and fast service. Great location on Cuba Street Downside – Not open on Monday or Tuesday but that might be a winter thing Would we go back – most certainly.More

We were lost on Cuba street. Where shall we go? A local pointed out this restaurant. They sat us quickly our party of 7. My table raved. I especially loved my masala dosai. The potato filled crepe served with 3 lovely sauces melted in my...mouth. I ate the whole thing! My husband loved his masala curry. The chicken dosai. Lamb kuze phenomenal.More

Yes it is cramped, busy, can be noisy and the meal may not be authentic Malay (as some have pointed out) but we thought the food, service and atmosphere were outstanding.

Nice food and reasonable price but tables jammed together so hardly any room to move as your have to try and squeeze past other diners to get to your table. Rest room out the back via the kitchen so you have to walk through the...kitchen to access the restroom which is so tiny a large person could potentially get themselves stuck. Nice atmosphere but very loud and noisyMore
