Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Always a great bet for a lovely meal and drinks. Fresh ingredients and good preparation. Great ambience and if on your own try a seat at the kitchen table. What a show , gets you off the cellphone and you may learn something too -...I did - how to brunoise a bell pepper correctly.More

Very vibrant place—had good appetizers and mains. Great menu and service. Met some nice people sitting next to us. Would recommend.

Exceptional food and service, we could not fault anything. Steak was cooked perfectly so was the venison loin. Staff were very attentive, drinks to the table within minutes. We would definitely recommend.

Perfectly mediocre food at exorbitant prices. Went here for my wife's birthday, and disappointing is an understatement. In summary: - Very ordinary, overcooked steaks/lamb at high prices, no better than most steaks you'd get at a pub and worse than a fair few - Bland...undercooked roast potatoes - Sauces ranged from unpleasant to decent but not matched well with the food - Brusque, vaguely unpleasant wait staff. We mentioned the overcooked lamb (NOT to send it back) and the server got very defensive. - Run down premises, small, wobbly table - Horrid shared building toilets - Doesn't appear to have AC, which leads to open windows, which leads to flies buzzing around the entire meal - Restaurant was nearly empty when we went, but they seated the very few patrons right next to each other, I assume because it's easy. Ended up getting COVID from the experience Overall quite a disappointing experience, especially given our high expectations. We would have been far happier going to a local pub.More

mixed experience: the arancini and bruschetta were excellent. the scotch fillet steak was good but i'd say it was at most 200g, not the 300g stated. largely because it was very thin which is probably why the medium-rare cooking came out with limited pinkness. at...$58 for just the meat this was very expensive and not justified. the accompanying peppercorn horseradish sauces were excellent. the service was very good, though there was quite a delay between starters and mains. ambience was mixed - its a nice looking space but essentially a big concrete hall and the thumping music contributed to quite a noisy environment. the banquet seating had a straight back which was quite uncomfortable - i ended up stuffing my jacket behind me to create a bit of lumbar support and angle.More

My wife and I had dinner here on our recent trip to NZ as our kids gave us a voucher for Xmas for it. The service was excellent and the range of food available on the menu was also good. It has a pleasant atmosphere,...albeit busy. The entree was tasty, but my main meal unfortunately took some time to come out. Staff apologized for the delay and said the steak I ordered would be out in six minutes. About six minutes later my wife's zucchini flowers and my steak arrived. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her zucchini flowers, but unfortunately as my steak wasn't hot at all I only thought it was okay. Perhaps if it had arrived six minutes earlier, I would've enjoyed it more!More

Wellington was quiet on a Wednesday evening but not at Charley Noble which was buzzing and relaxed. We were not put off by being advised of a 40 minute wait and received attentive bar service whilst waiting and was rewarded by being seated at the...Chefs table. Great experience watching and engaging with a team of professional and efficient chefs who delivered a quality food experience. Steaks were clearly the most popular orders but our venison and lamb selections were excellent. Service and engagement levels from all the Charley Noble team could not be faulted.More

A great experience. From the cocktails, at the bar, to the great service and food..it couldn’t have been better. We loved the food. We had the Market Fish Ceviche and the Chicken Liver Parfait for starters. The mains were also fabulous, Twice Cooked Beef Cheek...and the Pot Pie were also great. Lovely Champagne and wine with dinner and great staff.More

We went to this venue to celebrate our graduation. Food Entree Oyster: 9/10 Nicely fresh. Nice plating. Croquettes: 8.5/10 Great smoked fish flavours. Cooked to perfection, but the inside parts required a bit more seasoning. Arancini: 8/10 Overall flavours were great, but i expected more...aroma from basil. Beef tartare: 8/10 Great flavours, but plating could have been slightly better, especially for the use of negative space. Mains Scotch fillet: 7/10 Great flavour, worth the price, but mine was slightly overcooked. Perhaps 30-40 seconds less might just be perfect for medium rare. The plate looked a bit too empty without adding any side dishes. Venison loin: 9.5/10 This was the star during my visit. The venison was cooked to perfection. The chocolate sauce worked really well with the meat. Sides Black garlic butter: Had good flavours, but the garlic aroma was slightly lacking. Baby potatoes : 7.5/10 Love the flavour and aromas when adding anchovies and caper butter, but the potatoes could have been cooked more to get slightly browner colour (This is just my preference). Dessert: Apple tarte tatin: 8/10 Lovely flavours and presentation. The only downside I had was the ice cream that was melting nearly halfway when it arrived to my table. Service: 8.5/10 The lady that served our table was lovely. She was professional, friendly and knowledgeable.More

A bit of a poor end to our evening. Started well... 20 minute wait for a table which was fine and the bar staff were lovely. Got seated by a lovely waitress who did an amazing job telling us all about the menu. Then we...waited. And waited. Asked where our food was and waited some more. Asked again and over an hour after sitting down, we got our food. Unfortunately not brilliant. It was lukewarm. My husbands lamb backstop was fatty and chewy and the eye fillet I had was ok. For the price and the wait I expected more than just ok. The staff are lovely and they were absolutely rushed off their feet for a Wednesday night but we were disappointed.More

Impeccable, friendly, flexible and informative service. Food was innovative and catered to everyone’s budget and food preferences. Pigs Tail Salad especially good as was the taramasalata and the parfait all of which I had. Those who had the Japanese wagyu were well pleased. Great vibe...in this place. Go there.More
