Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I always come back for beef pho and fried spring roll. Perfect in cold weather. They are the best in Wellington and reasonably priced.

Bought one of each flavour of the dumplings for a lunch visit, they were doughy and soggy and the filling was hard and sausage like filling. Completely unappetising, had a bite of each and left the rest

Ordered a beef by mistake and was swapped for a chicken with very little hassle. Pho was delicious. Great experience

Fisherman’s plate makes amazing food, but lets admit it we only go back if the staff is friendly, accommodating and smiling. Today we have encountered otherwise, ordered food via phone to be picked up and when we did and just needed to pay after we...swiped the card that’s when the server pointed at their sign no credit cards allowed. Despite the receipt saying it was accepted (and even had paid the surcharge) the lady got all grumpy about it had her arms tucked in giving us the face and asked us to pay again but this time with a debit card (which means we will pay double) Asking why and why again, the owner came out and explained. long story short terrible service from the lady told the kind owner about the terrible service. lady claimed i screamed at her boss telling him about her terrible service and even wanted to chase me when i got out.More

It’s windy and raining tonight - a goodnight for some fish and chips. I frequent the Indian restaurant next to Fisherman’s Plate, that’s how I came across them. I just felt like some good fish and chips. So disappointing ! Fish was dry and stringy,...looked like stringy dry chicken when over cooked. The chips looked like bottom of the barrel left overs , you know the bits left over when you’ve served the good ones. Had a side salad which was the best thing that came out of that meal. It cost me $18 for fish/chips and a side salad. If it’s good ole fish and chips you want - don’t come here. What a let down.More

This used to be a great fish and chip shop. Now its main trade is Vietnamese food which it does very well. It still sells fish and chips which it does not do well. I ordered crumbed fish and chips to eat there. The fish...was over crumbed and over cooked. It was thin and dry; the crumbs were deeper on each side than the fish in the middle. The chips were clearly leftovers. The size varied between halfa thumb and a thumb nail. They too were overcooked. Overall it was unimpressiveMore

Interesting double track menu, with Vietnamese classics on one hand, and fish and chips on the other. Enjoyed the blue nose F&C.

Went for lunch yesterday. Flavourless pho. No discernible anise, fish sauce or coriander in the broth. Having been a customer for more than a decade I’m really disappointed. I also won’t be back.

This place is great for pho. It has a range of vietnamese dishes and pho is one of their specialities, along with fish n chips! Home made chips too! Worth a visit on these cold winter Wellington days. It's open for lunch and dinner too....Check their website for menu.More

I stayed one night in wellington and had a craving for Vietnamese food. Fisherman's plate had good reviews and was closed to the hotel I was staying. Restaurant itself looked bit old and small but it was pretty busy at Saturday night. I ordered the...grilled pork on rice and prawn spring rolls for takeaway. The food was pretty average with reasonable price.More

We come here regularly (about once a month) and have rare beef or chicken pho. Both are amazing, served with bean sprouts, mint, lemon, chilli (really hot) and lettuce. They roll out the pho like the pros they are, does not take long. The location...is clean and the staff efficient. Great value, fragrant broth, and good central location.More
