Maître D managed to squeeze the 2 of us in on a very busy Saturday evening. The place was humming! Food was fabulous, tuna entree sublime! Our main courses were also melt in the mouth. Had the duck curry and the slowed cooked beef ribs....Service was attentive and totally recommend. Will be back!!More

Booked a 9 pm dinner slot for a midweek graduation dinner, table of 4. It was my first visit to dragonfly ,tho a friend had recommended this restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised by the decor and the cool semi private dining spaces. Drinks ordered and we...indulged in a celebratory cocktail each that came in good time ,in almost no time our sharing entrees arrived we ordered the Peking mushroom Baio, the massaman spring rolls and the seared sesame tuna . all were sublime and a must order. For our mains we ordered the Sticky Pork Belly,Salmon two ways and the lemongrass chicken salad and as a side the Korean butter broccolli ,( broccoli was ok but not up to the heady quality of the previous plates) . In completion a fantastic dinner with great flavours and a perfect way to end a day of celebration !!. shout out to the chefs/kitchen team and also front of house for a flawless service ,an absolute revisit when next we are in wellington.More

Could have been our food choice this time but we were disappointed with our meal tonight. Small plates of dumplings, squid, seared tuna ( which was the standout), broccoli and coconut fried rice were all just a bit ho hum. This will be our last...visit.More

To start we had booked for 5 but 1 person was a late cancellation, lucky because the 5th persons chair was shoved on the end of a 4 person table, we were not impressed by this. The food is great quality and tasty, we were...encouraged to order shareplates vut table for 4 pp was tight. Knew we had a 2 hr booking and each ordered an aperitif then bottled wine to go with the food. We were still eating when told we needed to finish up ! we had previously enquired about a seat in the cocktail bar to finish wine and staff said yes she would find a spot. We were then relentless told to finish but there was not space in cocktail bar for us. Then on the dot of 2 hours were told the next booking was waiting and we needed to leave now ! What sort of quality place does bookings without any change over period. This is a restaurant management issue, not the fault of staff. We spent plenty of $$$s but won't return.More

Really enjoyed our first trip to this very popular restaurant. Very glad we booked, as it was very busy and they had to turn away quite a few walk-in hopefuls. Efficient service despite the busyness.

The level of care shown by staff to look after our large table was high with a level of professionalism that is rarely seen. The cocktails were tasty and well presented and the list of gins particularly good. The restaurant and bar space was extensive...and very attractively designed. We started with Tuna Tataki which was fine, edamame beans and followed this with a very fine Vietnamese Chicken Salad which featured a proliferation of fresh and vibrant herbs. The salmon two ways was well cooked however the dish despite being told it was one of their hotter chili dishes was bland, the duck curry was OK as well but lacked the unctuous nature that we had hoped and we usually like the contrast of lychee which was absent. The dessert platter was tasty and a good combination of western and eastern tastes and techniques. Overall, the experience was good value and the level of service in such a busy restaurant was high, we were really appreciative of their attention to detial. We would gladly return.More

Great staff very average food . Some of our choices were quite difficult to manage with chop sticks as the pieces of meat were too big .The cocktail was perfect which saved the evening . Maybe the kitchen was having an off night . .

Lots of hype around this place had me anticipating a great night but sadly it didn't really deliver. Packed to the hilt (so obviously popular) made it somewhat uncomfortably crowded especially in these times. The service from the wait staff was great - helpful and...friendly but the food was only so so. Having eaten at many similar styles of small plate/sharing/fusion type places over the last few years I feel Dragonfly needs to focus a little more on the food as it was disappointing - lacked flavour and just didn't really deliver. Also some cutlery would have been helpful for some of the items which were too bulky and heavy to manage with chopsticks - not really that much of a purist that I want to end up with my dinner down my front or on the floor. Cutlery could easily go in the box with the napkins and the chopsticks so why not make everyone's life easier. The people are the star here.More

I've visited Dragonfly several times over the last few years, it never disappoints. Very funky space and a lovely classic style.

Called in here without a booking on a Saturday night. Was advised to take a seat at the bar at the rear of the building and grab a seat if one came up - in the more relaxed part of the restaurant. A table soon...become clear and we grabbed that. Had 8 of the starter sized meals between the three of us - was a great amount of food and a great way to have a bit of everything. Really enjoyed the food. Was great sitting near the bar seeing all the cocktails being made. There was a small tray of three mini cocktails and so we inquired about those. Ended up ordering one each and OMG - they were awesome. The first two weren't cocktails I would usually order, so was good to get them - they were really nice. The third, the ginger kiss was divine. Would highly recommend Dragonfly.More
