Birthday dinner

We came here for both our birthdays on a Monday night, lucky we booked as it was busy all night, they do have a set 3 course menu on Mondays and Tuesdays but we chose off the menu. Service and Food was excellent, I have been before but many years ago. The calamari here is the best in Wellington, crumbed tasty and cut in right sizes to enjoy each mouthful. Highly recommend

. We traveled to Wellington for a weekend and didn’t realise that Wellington people like to eat out. All the restaurants were fully booked. We arrived at Fratelli and the girls were so friendly. They offered us a meal at the bar till a table became free. The wonderful bartender was so helpful with what cocktails to drink etc.. the menu had a lot to pick from. We decided to go with the Wellington On a Plate dish. We got offered a table in 15 minutes.. We will be definitely be recommending to anybody coming to Wellington. Delicious food, amazing staff and great atmosphere. Thank you

Fantastic meal, wellington on a plate

My hubby and I ate here on Thursday 4 August 2022. The service was great and the food superb. We were offered both menus but we chose the wellington on a plate 3 course for $65, so we could try each dish. We didn't have to wait around for our meal even though the restaurant was fairly full, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this as a place to eat beautiful Italian food.

Decent italian

I'm used to travelling to Italy so perhaps not fair to judge it with authentic Italian food...the bruschetta was disappointing as the bread was on the soft side and not crispy. the fuscilli pasta with chorizo was gorgeous. The pizza base was tasty but perhaps the type we ordered just wasn't for us-whole cloves of garlic, gots cheese and peppers. Overall a decent meal but definitely not the best Italian I have had.

Nice Italian food

A local friend recommended Frattelli for good Italian food and we were lucky again to get a table as we didn't book. Started with a drink at the bar and was prepared to eat at the bar but a table came free which was even better as it has a good ambience. We ordered some pasta and salad all fresh and home made and wine to complete. Small cosy restaurant typically Italian in the way that it is set in a doorway not a big frontage. Recommended.

Classic Italian restaurant

Fratelli is a classic Italian restaurant, from the slightly worn wooden furniture to the old pictures on the wall. The menu has pasta, pizza and the like. We both ordered pasta dishes and really enjoyed them, they were full of flavour and satisfying. The staff were friendly and helpful. They were very patient with me as I dithered over which Italian wine to choose from their extensive menu. I was happy with their recommendation. I would visit again on my next trip to Wellington.

Delizioso!

Firstly, the first restaurant I’ve been to in Wellington that accepts American Express! So this is already an A+ for me! The food was delicious, fresh and servings are just right. We had the bruschetta for entree; and the pan fried fish of the day and spaghetti marinara for mains. We left feeling satisfied! The main dining room is not big but adequately spaced and the table were not crowded. Overall, we good night out enjoying yummy food.

Light dinner

We stopped here for a light dinner since we ate a very filling lunch earlier in the day. We ordered the Bruschetta and Cannelloni with spinach and ricotta both were entrees (appetizers). Our food came very quickly and it was very good. Service was exceptional. I would definitely recommend.

Great food and service

This place is popular and I can see why - even on a Monday it was packed. We shared the risotto balls starter and a gluten free Paolina pizza, then had tiramasu and panna cotta for dessert. All of them were excellent. It was the nicest gluten free pizza base I had ever eaten. Service was also excellent.

So good, I ordered twice

I visiting Wellington on business so was dinning alone. The staff were fantastic and the food delicious. I opted for for a medium rare steak with goose fat potato’s. Both were cooked perfectly and had so much flavour. To accompany, I chose a beautiful Italian chianti wine. I followed the main with some very tasty miniature do-noughts and a wee lemoncello. I was so taken with the food; on my third night I ordered the meatballs to be delivered to my hotel and again I was not disappointed. Absolutely delicious. So much flavour.

A very busy spot, but the excellent food will reward any wait for a seat

This is a very popular spot and the only available seating during our visit was at the bar. The food however was well worth the slightly awkward seating positions. Our bruschetta had lovely bread and was very tasty. Similarly our pizzas were very good with a nice thin base and good toppings especially the mushrooms. Although the seating at Fratelli can be limited, the food will reward your patience in waiting for a seat.

Second time I have come to Fratelli and it was just as good as the first. The food here is excellent, fresh inviting and the service is welcoming. I recommend Fratelli to anyone wanting good Italian in a spacious setting to enjoy a date night or with friends.

Good quality Italian

Fratelli was a few minutes around the corner from the QT hotel where we were staying. When we arrived at 7pm is was practically full - always a good sign. We started with the bruschetta with white anchovies and some warm olives and moved on to a very good pork shoulder ragu with pappardelle and mushroom risotto (slightly annoyingly it was the same price as the risotto with venison, turned vegetarian). We had some very nice Salice and Porter Pinot noir with it. Service was good. Would happily return.

A Local Treasure

If you're looking for fresh Italian fare look no further than Fratelli's. My wife and I have been enjoying their food for years and we've never had anything but a great experience. They have a great selection of food and drink and the service is always fast and friendly. And it's not that expensive to boot - what's not to like/love!

Worth the visit

Came here after a disappointing meal at Coene's the night before and were delighted we did. Interesting menu and the food was freshly prepared and delicious. Also the lack of available booking times and busyness of the restaurant testified to it's general popularity.
