Breakfast Buffet

We’ve purchased a few Grab-1 vouchers to eat the breakfast buffet at 180 restaurant. Always easy to get a booking and a good spread. As usual you need to ask for any eggs other than scrambled but no bother for the chefs to whip up some poached eggs. Nice views of wellington, amazed they didn’t put the restaurant at the front of the building to maximise the views!

Exceptional food with Exceptional staff

Very good service from the Barman who was very attentive not only to us but everyone having a drink either before eating in the Restaurant or going out. After one hour of pre dinner drinks we were seated in One80 Restaurant where the service of the staff was great and thanks must go to the kitchen staff as the food was very well presented and cooked to perfection. Excellent all round place for a great night out. Thanks to everyone who made our night and enjoyable one.

Had 7pm reservation, but were hungry and arrived at 6pm. Seated immediately and received good service. Restaurant appeared to be short-staffed, however, so later arrivals probably felt poorer service. Food excellent. Bottom-line: Arrive early.

Not what it used to be. Service was very average and food very over priced, over $40 for a steak that wasn't cooked properly. Staff are doing their best but need more training. Such a shame as has an amazing vista but they need up their food quality and train their staff up better. Disppointing to say the least.

Disappointing given the reviews

We booked here whilst in Wellington, and were very disappointed. Firstly they had lost our reservation (which we had confirmed and received an acknowledgement of). After a bout of “we will see what we can do” we were shown to a table. Bizarrely most of the other tables were empty all the time we were there, despite two very large parties using the restaurant. The food itself was OK, but we had way better meals in all the other restaurants we tried during our 5 day stay in Wellington. However, we do not expect to have to point out to the waitress that one of the items stated on the menu was missing from one of our meals (she even had to get the menu to check what should have been served). So that part of the meal turned up a while later, and we were not convinced that what was served was correct. This appeared to us to be typical of what to expect in a Copthorne Chain hotel - not a decent restaurant. Our advice - find somewhere else. And the view is not all it is cracked up to be.

Went to the restaurant for a special celebration but value for money was poor. Would not recommend. Charges for the meal were exhorbitant - mains $35 - $50 plus $9 for seasonable vegetables ( 3 small corncobs and eggplant mash) and $9 for chips! Didn't stay for desserts. Table setting included dirty placemat and menu on cheap photocopy paper. Not at all classy.

Super food with a slight Indian twist on some choices. Great waiter service also and all this for less than $100 courtesy of an online voucher to feed two of us three courses each. Great value!

We love eating at One80. The food is always delicious and the staff are always helpful and welcoming, even when very busy. As Wellington on a Plate is on, we had their DINE dish, which was beautifully cooked and amazing value at $30, for a large platter of main dishes (the Achari Lamb and Aloo Gobi were to die for) and good sized plate of desserts!

Great meal

I ordered the beef Wellington, the chef's signature dish. The beef was tender, perfectly cooked to my taste(I wanted it rare). It was delicious. The wine the waiter suggested was a perfect match. Can really recommend this restaurant.

Tasty food with some really special dishes

We came here on a grabone voucher and we weren’t disappointed. The atmosphere on a weekend was fairly quiet but the city views were nice. Good communication from the restaurant staff before hand to confirm bookings and inform us that one of the entrances was closed off for renovation We shared 2 starters - the sashimi and fried chicken and we thought they were very good. The chef speciality (beef Wellington) which we were highly anticipating did not let us down. We wanted it medium rare and it was more on the medium side but delicious non the less. We were full by the end of it and for desert we shared the bomb Alaska and macaroons which were both ok - nothing to get excited about Overall a very good experience. Vouchers did specify bread which we never got and were never offered but we were very full anyway! Portions were generous. Drinks menu was also good with some really nice options Some of the staff were very highly trained and extremely pleasant and should be highly commended. Others were ok/ adequate and not bad by any means Would come back for a few dishes for sure - on a voucher definitely worth it!

Fusion food at its best

Chetan and his team have crafted a perfect menu to cater for all taste buds and dietary needs. One80 degrees restaurant, in my opinion, is one of the best fine-dining restaurants in Wellington. I found the dishes were fairly priced, service was top notch and I would totally recommend making a reservation in advance to get a table by the window, overlooking the harbour and view of the sunset while you enjoy the dinner.

Amazing

Dined tonight for our one year wedding anniversary, we read some reviews and were thinking the meals would be small but they were great size that we couldn’t even finish them to being so full! The food was Devine and we loved it all; highly recommend and will be telling our family and friends. The brûlée dessert is a 11/10 that was the most delicious dessert my husband and I have ever had! The staff were also lovely and helpful. We will be back! Thanks for making our anniversary great!

Arrogant, argumentative maître d Poor service Average over priced food Booked early and requested a table with a full city view …. on arrival this now, because of poor organisation, could not be accommodated. Ordered two bottles of wine for our group…. Two glasses arrived!! Strongly suggest when dining you reserve a table at one of the many professional, high quality restaurants in the area.

A great night out

Our family of 8 was celebrating a 50th birthday. Our original booking was for 7 and I was dismayed that the table was set for 7, despite my contacting the restaurant 3 days earlier to amend the booking to 8. However, another place was quickly set up, and from there the evening flowed smoothly. The timing was great and drinks, then our 3 courses arrived steadily. We had 3 vegetarians and there was plenty in the menu for them. The salmon fillet in Goan curry sauce, and the aubergine were particularly great. The Earl Grey creme Brule was also a hit. We rated the service we received - waiting staff were attentive and pleasant, double checking orders and following up to make sure we were happy. All in all, a great night out.

Expected better given other reviews

On our final night in Wellington we decided to eat at the hotel. We arrived and were shown to a table away from the windows despite there being free tables (subsequently discovered this was because they didn’t want to re lay not because they were booked). Service was friendly but less than enthusiastic. The staff didn’t seem as if they wanted to be there. My husband and I both opted for the chicken thali. It arrived quickly and was beautifully presented. The poppadoms were tasty but brittle. When you tried to add chutney they fell to pieces. The chutneys themselves were quite tasty. The rice was well cooked. The naan was the best bit. Really delicious and a good size. The curry.... meh. The chicken was grisly and in my opinion inedible. My other half doesn’t mind this so he ate his. The sauce was ok but it had a strange texture and taste. Neither pleasant nor unpleasant. Such a shame given the other reviews. Possibly bad luck for us but safe to say we would not dine here again.
