Average food. Lousy service, even rude for Thai standards. I invited a couple of guests for a business lunch. It was a disappointment. I will never go back. Jose.
The range and the menu is fantastic. we have eaten at the Napier branch of this Thai Food chain and really like the food there. I Think this is even better and would certainly eat here again as long as the restaurant tightens up its...procedures on takeaway delivery peopleMore
We have dined at Thai chefs many many times and the food has always been very nice. We visited early this month with family. On arrival waitress came to take our order immediately, hardly had tine to read the menu. Then the waitress said we...had to leave by 8.00pm. When I booked I was told we had to leave by 8.30pm which I agreed to on the phone. When we ordered our food, we were told all our food that is entrees and mains would come together. The waitress said that they had a big group coming and there the kitchen would be very busy. This is not our problem, if the the kitchen cannot cope with the number of people dining. They should not take so many bookings. We then said well cancel our entrees as we can't eat everything together. Waitress then came out and said it was fine, we can have our entrees first and do not have to leave until 8.30pm. Entrees were nice and mains came soon after. I felt the service was poor actually no customer service really. The mains were not as nice as usual. Then they were rushing us at 8.15pm to leave yet we had until 8.30pm. There didn't seem to be any new customers arriving so I don't know what they were hurrying us for. This has put me off this restaurant. I was a Friday regular. Takeaways are never the same as the food you have at the restaurant..More
The food is amazing, but the attitude of the waitress was terrible, she was rude with the attention, she didn't explain about the price of the cups, we had to pay for the cup of wine that we didn't use. in addition, one of the...dishes wasn't that we ordered, they brought something different.More
I went to Thai Chef's Wellington today around 7 pm with my wife. We ordered entrées and mains, got our entrées about 20 minutes after the arrival but we were waiting for mains until 8.30 pm. Girls serving at tables were not responding at all. At 8.30 pm I...went to the front desk to ask about the mains. The front desk girl was so discourteous, answered to me acting like it's my fault. All the staff didn't show any good humour at all, did not know how to respond to customers politely. They haven't even started preparing my mains when I followed up at 8.30 pm so I cancelled it, paid only for entrées and left without having dinner. I was utterly disappointed about Thai Chef's Wellington customer service and concluded that I never go back again to Thai Chef's Wellington. The staff should understand that your customers are not begging for food, we pay for your food, pay for your service.More
I agree with the other reviewers that the service at Thai Chef's needs improvement BUT, the food was so good I can't help but give them the full five stars! They use spices that I've never or rarely taste. They have these seaweed like thingies...in the Black Pepper Beef that made the dish taste delicious. The Naughty Pig was yummy and the Mussanum Curry tasted great! We'll definitely go back again and again to try the other dishes.More
This is a lovely place. We have eaten here 3 times and the food has always been very delicious. Good size portions all freshly cooked and taste exquisite. The service is excellent. Get there early if you want to get a table, its a busy...place. Once you are there, there is no rush.More
A disappointing experience... The staff were upset by us early on.. we had had a few drinks but weren’t rowdy! They didn’t tell us that the drinks we ordered were not on the menu. The staff then proceeded to tell us we were too drunk....They were rude and accused us of being drunk even though we weren’t. It was upsetting and ruined a good evening.More
Good reviews were encouraging however maybe I ordered wrong food. Minced prawn fritters were like cardboard and very disappointing. We were a mid size group but they tried to charge us for extra drinks we didn’t have. Think there are better Thai restaurants in Wellington
