Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

LBQ is my local and I love it. Reliably has coeliac safe gf beers and gf food. Sometimes staff try to recommend low gluten beers that are fine for gluten intolerant but not coeliac - so if you have coeliac like me make sure to specify you need gluten free not low gluten

Found this place on a mini solo bar crawl as a tourist. Amazing choice of beer which was helpfully guided by a warm and welcoming staff. Lots of quality beers to choose from and their discounted lunch menu was a bargain and also excellent. Really nice vibe. Highly recommend.

Slightly tricky to find - it's round the corner at the top of an alleyway. But inside, it's small and has a great atmosphere. Seating outside also. Free WiFi. Huge selection of keg craft beers and a good dining menu of snack meals.

I went with a friend on a Sunday afternoon in what was then Level 2 Covid restriction. A customer service course for the person who met me at the door would be a plus. I was asked for a card when I ordered not that it would be charged. When I did pay and wanted to use a different card the fact that I touched the second card was an issue though it hadn’t been for the first. Look, in the end this is a small pub with limited parking in an area of town that has limited parking. If you can walk and put up with the weird Covid behaviour, it’s one of many places in Wellington to have a drink.

We visited LBQ in 2019 and found it to be an awesome place. It had a quaint eclectic vibe with old retro furniture and people playing board games while enjoying the good craft beers and food. We thought the eclectic vibe gave it an edge over other bars. My wife and I are not the eclectic type of people but enjoy the atmosphere that it created at LBQ.
We visited again in January 2023 and were a bit disappointed it had lost the retro furniture and its eclectic atmosphere. The beer range was still outstanding. The furniture replaced though with bar leaners enabling more people to have a table. We still enjoyed LBQ but disappointed as we feel its lost its vibe and just another bar that serves craft beer of which there are many nowadays.

It's very rare to find hand pumped beer in the Southern Hemisphere, but Little Beer Quarter had several, all of which were well brewed and great! The staff knew their beers and happy to share their expertise. There was plenty of outdoor seating as well as indoor tables and comfortable chairs. While there were a few groups, it was clearly a local favorite with several singles dropping by for a pint. It's a bit off the main Street, but well worth looking for - your new favorite place.

Stopped in for drinks only so don’t know about the food but the craft beer selection and the atmosphere was perfect for an afternoon-holiday-adult beverage- experience.

Quite a small venue with a cozy and friendly vibe. Sort of a Kiwi take on the old English pub with an eclectic collection of odds and ends adorning the walls and ceiling. Super range of beer on tap. Only thing missing was an apple cider.
Up A lane snd around the corner, so easy to miss. Worth hunting out.

If you are looking for a great pub with a range of great beers, then visit this place. Don’t be put off by the approach - it is down a side alley which is not the prettiest of places, but the bar and beer is definitely worth it.

In Wellington for a leisure or business trip? By yourself or with friends? And you want good quality burgers, pizzas or snacks? Most importantly, do you enjoy beers? This place didn’t fail me with all above, and I am sure will do the same to you 😉

My business colleague & I visited LBQ (9.15PM) 26/10/21 for a drink after a stunning meal at Siem Reap to be accused of being intoxicated, we were asked to leave.
Never again will I step foot in your premises if this is the quality of staff employed.
