My friend and I enjoyed lunch outside on Saturday. It was quite busy being Anzac weekend and the sun was shining. The staff were warm and friendly and the food was great too. Had a good coffee also.

We met family here for lunch. Service was disappointing, we had to ask for our drinks. Food arrived, somewhat burnt and cold, we had to find our own knives and forks. We would have stayed here longer and ordered more drinks, if we had gotten...some service. Really sorry, but this was disappointing and we won't be coming back again.More
As always, food is supreme! However, something I noticed about the maître D on today was a bit “pointed” with her customer service. Not rude per se, but just not so friendly to interact with.
Visited from Auckland for the weekend and a friend took us to Karaka cafe on a Saturday afternoon. They had live music from Māori artists that was simply amazing. The food was delicious and cocktails were devine. We were hosted by Jess who was a...BAWSE! Very efficient and friendly. Would definitely recommend this local spot.More
I have travelled to Polynesia and know the culture. Ordered the Hangi. It was pretty bland and tasteless. Made the manager aware that we were really disappointed. Will not be returning. Portions are small.
Visited Sunday at about 11am. Yes it was busy but got a table easily. Order two dishes and two coffees. Waited 35 minutes for dishes which is fine. An hour later after twice asking where coffees were and being told they’re on the way still...no coffee. Had paid already mind you. Couldn’t wait any longer after over and hour left without having our coffees.More
This cafe was absolutely breathtaking when entering. The attention to detail and beauty of the surrounding Maori decor is well done and really helps to immerse you in the beautiful Maori culture of New Zealand with Maori music setting the tone in the room and...Maori menus. The food and service was wonderful. The staff were attentive and patient with us and were very friendly and happy to be there it seemed. The food was served hot and fresh with the unique Hangi style flavours being a family favourite. Overall this cafe is a breath of fresh air from the average cafe because it has personality and is very hard to forget. Will definitely be coming back here!More
Our group of 6 needed brunch and on a drizzly Wellington Sunday, and stumbled into this gem after several places we tried were thankfully booked out. All our menu choices were taste sensations. A great fusion of cafe style food & smoky hangi flavours. Many...GF options. Love your work!More
Very good food, but let down by poor staff training and seemingly a new IT system that staff couldn’t use properly… Disappointing…
We were a mid week table Of 6, the cafe was empty inside and 8 tables occupied out side so not that busy, glasses came had to ask for water - ordered food and a spare plate. Food arrived 45 mins later - no cutlery,...no spare plate- daughter asked for cutlery it didn’t arrive! after 10 mins of picking food with our fingers, I had to go and tell the waitress what I thought of the terrible service and the slow to come food, also it was now an hour and we were still waiting for one portion of fries! Another ten mins passed, still no chips! An absolute joke of a establishment, lots of staff and no organisation at allMore
