We had one member of our table who had an hour and a quarter to have dinner and we let the wait person know this. The room was full and we made the mistake of ordering cocktails which were great but took over 20 minutes to arrive. This put the rest of the meal back. The coconut mojito, pineapple julep and berry lychee daiquiri were great. The wine list is also well matched to the food and well priced. The food is of high quality, plentiful and really tasty. We had pork buns, dumplings (pork and vegan), chicken wings and squid to start. We asked for one of the mains to come out at the same time and then to be served in a takeaway box as the guest had to leave. The remaining Amok fish and Char Kreang Chicken and Vegetables were great, indeed we could hardly finish. We have had Amok fish in other places and the quality of the fish here made the dish and set it apart. Service was pleasant it was just that the kitchen was overwhelmed. It is a great restaurant however, the room is tasteful, the food and drinks are excellent and represent very good value and Cambodian food is a really nice change from the more typical Thai or Vietnamese food.

My family and I used to go to Siem Reap a couple of times a year a while back and we just seemed to drift away to other restaurants in town, probably because we are so very spoilt for choice. We decided to go last night and were reminded why it had always been a favourite. We started with an old favourite, the Stuffed Chicken Wings and Dumplings. I was hard to say which was better. Great flavours and tasted like they'd only been made minutes before hand. Three of us then shared two mains, which was AMPLE food. The great thing is Siem Reap are generous with their portions, which means value for money is right up there. We had the Beef Saramon (Slow cooked beef in coconut cream, lime leaves, galangal, star anise, red capsicums and mushrooms. Served with roti); and Char Kreang Chicken (Chicken stir-fried with lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, turmeric, seasonal vegetables and topped with crushed peanuts). Lordy. Both so good. We saw dishes arriving at other tables and were already saying next time, we'll try those, and even before leaving the restaurant, I had text my brother suggesting his birthday dinner in a few weeks should be at Siem Reap, because I'm selfish and I want his birthday dinner to be all about me getting another dose of such great food! :-) We had the four dishes with rice and roti and six glasses of wine for $176.

We have been to this restaurant quite a few times over the years (probably about 10 times as we used to come here for some work do's too). There is always a very good atmosphere and we always enjoy the food so it is consistently good. A few years ago I would have given this a 5 rating, but I am only giving it a 4 rating now as the quality of the food isn't quite as amazing as it used to be and it is now a bit more expensive. We do recommend the Flamed Grilled Lamb Rack - it is delicious and we pretty much always get it. I don't know if that is really a Thai dish or not but it sure does taste good.

What was once a great restaurant with fabulous authentic Cambodian food is now a shadow of its former self. The meals were poorly executed, the fish was less than fresh (as soon as it was placed on the table the smell wafted across the whole restaurant), the peanut sauce had little or no peanuts in it (it was mostly coconut cream) and most of the dishes served to our large party were lacking in flavour or the main protein advertised. There was a complete lack of the fresh, vibrant flavors of Cambodian food. Staffing levels were completely inadequate for the number of people in the restaurant and service was slow. The young lady who took our orders was the only person who did a great job, managing a large group with skill and repeating back our orders to ensure she had gotten everything correct. The staff failed to check our meals were up to standard and wait times for food and drink for our party were simply ridiculous. This is despite the restaurant being almost empty. I had been told and was expecting some delays due to the size of our party (12 people) but service was of a poor standard. Wait staff were bringing out mains when the table still hadn't been cleared of the starter plates. We had to ask to have them removed so that the mains could be put down. No one was checking our table to see if we needed anything nor did anyone check to see if drinks were required. There simply was no attention to detail and it was obvious that the wait staff were untrained. All of this could be excused if the food was fabulous and the pricing was reasonable. It was not. Having frequented Siem Reap since it's inception I was truly disappointed to see whats its become. Double the prices for half the quality. I won't be crossing their door again.

We dined with a group of thirteen last week on a Wednesday. We got great advice how to order so all of us would have a nice meal and could eat at the same time, vegans and vegetarians included. The food was excellent, quantities not too far overboard so that there were hardly any leftovers. Very friendly staff and nice wine.

We booked a table for six on a recent visit to Wellington based purely off some online reviews. Having never eaten Cambodian before I wasn’t sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised. We did the set group menu and everything was beautiful! Most of our group don’t eat seafood and it was great to have the waitress tell us we could swap out any of the dishes for something different so we were able to tailor the set menu to the group’s preferences. Each sharing dish was very large and had ample food for everyone, and they were all soo tasty! I would say much of the food was similar to Thai food. The green curry was the best I’ve had, but every other dish was great too. The desserts are fairly basic but dessert is not why you go to these sorts of restaurants. The cocktails were also really good. If I lived in Wellington I would definitely have this place down for a regular visit.

Used to be great, now very average not what it was. Very expensive for what it is, I get frustrated with paying for cheap while rice for costly stir fry dishes! Food was described beautifully, however the flavours were very mainstream. Wine list average, staff were great. Just does not do it like it did. Entrees small expensive small mostly deep fried! Skip for a cheaper byo you will save money and have the same experience!

Siem Reap had only been open again for a week or so after the Covid lockdown when we visited. Consequently it was not that busy, about 3/4 full on a Friday night. I have been a few times before, but my wife had never been. The food is still as fantastic as ever. I had the BBQ pork in a spicy sauce which was cooked perfectly for my palate. They serve a good range of drinks including local boutique beers and cocktails. Excellent value for money, and the food is fresh and yummy Cambodian fusion. Go at once, you won't be disappointed!

The front of house staff were very friendly and accommodating. I got the stir fried king prawn dish and asked for it spicy. The prawns were really nicely cooked, good portion. Just found it too oily and sweet/syrupy. Needed more freshness and spicyness, some acidity too. I would go back as the value was quite good and my friends seem to enjoy their meals, which included a nhorm salad and green curry. Next time i'd like to try the nhorm salad or salmon.

After a recommendation from a friend I visited at 6pm on a Wednesday night. The restaurant was quiet at first but filled up by 6:30. Service was good and the wait staff very polite. Dumplings were superb, crunchy and full of flavor. They reminded me of dumplings sold by street vendors in Asia. For mains I had the sizzling pork fillet, which was also delicious and came on a sizzling hot plate. Good serving sizes with plenty of vegetables as well. Overall a great night with delicious food that's full of flavour.

I went with a friend on an Wednesday evening, before the carol service at the nearby St Mary of the Angels. As it was a Wednesday, I was surprised to be asked if I had a reservation. I didn't, but they found us two seats at one of of a table for six and said that they would probably put two people at the other end. They did but it was fine as it was not closer than if they had been at a neighbouring table. We ordered three small plates to share - the battered prawns, the garlic prawns and the fried pork dumplings - and a roti each. My friend also had a latte. The service was good and the food was excellent. The place was attractive and the background music stayed in the background where it belongs (so you can hear your companion speak) but was very pleasant. I will definitely eat here again.

Best food ever! There’s definitely a reason the Cambodian owners are still going strong with this restaurant. Great staff, lovely atmosphere, fast food service (we were on a mission as it was late) and some of the most scrumptious food we’ve ever eaten. We came with our family, 7 of us including young kids and the staff were so accommodating and helpful. We were offered a high chair and colouring in. We could tell the restaurant is not set up as a full on family restaurant as I would assume most of the time diners would be adults. The ambience is sophisticated, relaxing and calm and would make an excellent spot to catch up with friends or date night. I recommend everything! Especially the chicken spring rolls and the Beef Saramon. And the Garage Project beers. And the roti. And the Green Curry. And the Satay Chicken. See where I’m going?

We were warmly welcomed and received excellent service and yummy dishes from the team at Siem Reap. We could not fault a thing. We definitely recommend the shared platter - which allowed us to sample a bit of everything.

My husband and I weren’t sure where we were going to go for dinner. We stumbled across Siem Reap and we are so glad we did. Amazing food and outstanding service too. Totally recommend this spot to anyone! Our favs were the stuffed chicken wings, the pork belly and the limeade mocktail was also delish!

We had fantastic chicken satay starter, really tasty, then excellent beef saramon with roti- one of my favourite dishes ever. But the Mee Goreng was a tad greasy. Apart from that, definitely 5 star.
