Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Our waitress seemed to always be in a hurry when bringing in dishes, or clearing. We weren't as enamored with the chef's menu as we have been at other fine dining restaurants we've been to throughout NZ in the past 6 weeks. The dishes were...all tasty, but just not 'wow'. We opted for the Coravin wine pairing, and it was very nice to taste other countries' wines that played off the dishes perfectly.More

We dined here as a family, with our two adult daughters. The service was impeccable, including great wine advice. The food was delicious and well-priced, and the overall ambience was lovely. I like the way you can order 100ml glasses of wine, so you can...try more of the various wines on offer. Thanks for a wonderful evening, the perfect place to celebrate our daughters’ arrival in Wellington to start university.More

I had the afternoon off and wanted to just sit and chill with some light eats and a wine. This place was just opening for the night and their restaurant was fully booked but I could sit in by their bar and I had an...opportunity to get some small plate selections to eat. I chose the food and let them choose the wine. Well it was and an excellent experience. Food was great, service was too and the wines were perfectly matched. I immediately booked for my wife to join me here for her birthday. So looking forward to coming back.More

Fabulous wine options by the glass! Well paired foods. Try the blind tasting and test your skills in naming the varietals and terroirs. Finish your evening with one of their dessert wine or port options. The 1997 Grahams is drinking well and the chocolate raspberry...truffle was ridiculously good. Staff are superlative and knowledgeable.More

Easily one of my all-time best food and wine experiences. Amazing wine list and an incredibly knowledgeable host. All four courses that we tried - oysters, tataki kingfish, veal and then cheese were perfect. Great room and perfect atmosphere!

After a lovely meal at a restaurant nearby, we decided on Noble Rot for a sticky nightcap. Simply put, I was shocked by the exorbitant prices. Jeepers! I do not recommend. Outrageous. They are absolutely taking the mickey with those prices.

PROs -excellent selections of wines from all over the world -delicious oysters THAT'S ABOUT IT! CONs -very short list of food selections on the menu -we ordered lamb shoulder- it was way too tough, cold and we got 5 small pieces. This was our 4th...lamb throughout Australia and NZ and this one was served cut into small pieces for way more price than others. Not good at all. We sent it back and got the pulled pork...it came and it looked like a square of 'spam'... by this time I was hungry so I ate most of it. My husband did not eat it and again complained to the manager and requested the item be taken off our bill. She argued with my husband and made some nasty remarks like 'well your wife ate it'... and 'does your wife speak for you' ... He was appalled. At this point we paid the bill and left. Very nasty attitude and she needs to learn customer service especially when customers are paying high prices. This place was such a disappointment especially as it was our last night in NZ and we were finishing celebrating our 30th anniversary.... -over priced for what you get -Additionally, this place has an identity crisis... they are not sure if they are a BAR or a fine dining establishment. The music was very loud electronic dance music and a large bar area which was pretty full. Not a conducive to find dining. If you're looking for a bar scene this is it BUT NOT fine dining.More

Food was delicious and presented beautifully! Staff were very attentive looking after everyone in our (large) group. I don't drink alcohol, but my colleagues were happy with their wines and I would come again just for the food!

We booked a dinner reservation for the bar on a Thursday night. It was very busy so we were glad we did. Unfortunately to fit a larger group that walked in we were sat next to a party room that was full with an event....Every time the door slid open it hit our table. Not great but we moved the table to minimize the interruptions. We ordered drinks and charcuterie - 2 meats and 2 cheeses. Unfortunately the waitress forgot to place our food order and when we asked about it she pretended it was “coming right up”. In the end it took 45 minutes for us to get our food. While most people experiences may be better, there was no recognition of mistakes or attempt to make things better for us. The whole experience could have been so much better.More

An exceptional meal: the steak was perfect with a beautiful sear, the rosti is OMG, and Jess guided us to two exceptional bottles of red on the wine list: a 2013 Brunello and a 2005 Unico. The first was a joy at every sip and...the second was blueberry pie in a glass in the most incredible way.More
