Great coffee & delicious breakfast

Came here with a group of 6. We were walking down the waterfront when we came upon a sign claiming the best coffee in town. A bold statement I thought, let’s check it out. I ordered a large flat white which was creamy and hit all the right taste buds. Definitely backed up that statement. A cold pressed orange juice was also a nice side with my main. For a feed I ordered the smashed avo on toast. Other tried the eggs bene, big breakfast and mushrooms on toast. This place did not disappoint! One of the best breakfasts I’ve enjoyed and the other in my group thoroughly enjoyed theirs as well.

We walked in at 1.45pm and they still seat us even though it was past kitchen hours. The waiter and staff were all so smiley and friendly even as it neared the end of their shift. Ordered French toast and when it arrived, it was a beautiful sight to behold. Took my first bite and WOW, what a surprise! The banana was caramelised to perfection and bacon fried to the right amount of crisp. The touch of almond and currants took the dish to the next level. I always order French toast in all the cafes I visited and I must say Dry Dock made it to my top 3. It left me a memorable first impression and I would definitely bring my friends the next time round!

Overpriced and poor food

Best coffee in Tauranga - if thats the case Tauranga has terribly burnt coffee. Was offered child sized portions, but they charged us full price anyhow. I paid $12 for a dry toasted bagel, a tablespoon of Avocado and 4 slices of tomato. I had to go and ask for some butter and some more avo as it wasnt anywhere enough to spread over. Would NOT recommend - cafe needs to up its game!

Popped in for Brunch. Decor is slightly dated and smells a little of mildew. Service was friendly and quick. My soy latte was good. I had the eggs benedict, not ideal served on crusty ciabatta with some soggy spinach under the eggs. Bacon was tasteless and over cooked. The big breakfast was a fairly similar story, however, tomatoes were not cooked in the centre and garlic and beef sausages were of poor quality. For $62 I expected a lot better breakfast. We won't be returning.

Simply the best.

This is a great Cafe. Always first on the list when family are visiting or friends from out of town. Several of us have had a wide range from the menu and great reports from all. Also great staff. Will be back soon.

We come here often for breakfast and always have great food, service and coffee. Lovely to sit outside in the sun. Good location on Wharf St and we never have trouble finding a car park.

Very nice al fresco

Sunday morning breakfast outside in the morning sun. Good coffee, good food and pleasant ambience. Mix and matched a couple of things which was no problem to the friendly staff. Would recommend and return. Would have had 5 stars but insisted on payment before food which us a big issue to us so no trust to the customer.

Awesome family Brunch

Absolutely brilliant, we were a family group of 8, all the meals were delivered at the same time, everyone enjoyed it. Great service. Will definitely go back.

Cooked breakfast was barley warm and coffe was like warm. Service was good. Couldn’t eat the eggs too cold. Disappointing for the cost.

Great Café at CBD
