We haven't been to the Jolly good fellows for a while now after shocking service on our last visit, thought we would try again, unfortunately today the service still has not improved, sat at our table for 15 mins waiting for someone to take our...drinks order, when he finally did arrive there was no apology for the wait and not overly helpful.More
Great place for a couple of quiet beers, while sitting in the outside area watching people wonder by on the lake front.
Hedge at the front blocks the cool southern breeze to take the chill off.
Great selection of beers with knowledgeable staff who know...their beers.More
Had several visits this month. Can't speak highly enough of the incredible welcome on arrival and the service that followed. If the menu is to your taste you couldn't wish for better. Special mention of the awesome "boss" Moroa and that Special English lady Christina....Not forgetting all the others and chefs. Top restaurant and will be back at every opportunity. Ali & BillieMore
Always enjoy calling in to the JGF - great spot on the lake front, friendly staff, good and good value pub style food and good beer (a shame that the British tap beers are not available due to global supply issues). Always good - best...to book the restaurant!More
Friday night and I am glad I booked a table as it was fully booked and I could see them turning people away. Pity there was a lack of English beer but I understand the reasons.
Lamb shank and burger was both really good.
The...wait staff were attentive and I would see the maître de was overseeing and guiding them for what was an extremely busy nigh with big tables.
Well done we will be backMore
Group of 7, one member asked 3 times for a drink but was told "I'm not your waiter", and "I'm too busy", despite placing food on our table.
Korma was under spiced, under seasoned and pompadom was stale
We ate here on a busy night. The service was really slow and they badly need some staff training. Handing meals across the table - they should walk around the table and serve meals properly. It took a Loooooong time to get a drink. The...Lamb Shank and the Beef & Guinness Pastie were really good, the Steak was chewy and full of gristle, the kids meal were excellent. The waiter dropped a container of white sauce over my wife's top and pants - he said "if it's any consolation I've got some on my trousers and shoe". REALLY ???? He didn't even tell the lady in charge but when we did she did not charge for that meal. We will NOT be going back and wouldn't recommend - too hit and miss.More
Watched the final race of the Americas Cup and enjoyed a great atmosphere. The drinks ambassador made sure of prompt service. Stayed and had a meal which was very good also and dietary requirements were looked after. Great view out across the lake. Would definitely...stop in again.More
