This is a really enjoyable place. I’m so pleased I took the advice of a previous reviewer and sought it out. The vibe is relaxed and welcoming - it’s popular, but you should find a spot. I stopped here for lunch on a rainy day....On my own I was able to find a seat on the mezzanine level, which overlooked the activity of the cafe below. Menu offerings are varied - I ordered the smashed avocado with pineapple (?), salad, pepitas and poached egg. I added smoked salmon. They told me the wait would be 30 minutes and it came in 20, so that was well managed. It was an unusual combination but quite good. Very colourful - I would have preferred it without all the raw onion, but that’s just personal taste I guess. Coffee is excellent. Service is very good. I wouldn’t hesitate to return. Well done to all and thank you.More

Hard to beat - as good a cafe as I have been to anywhere in the world. Would love to go back for dinner with their live music nights . Will have to be content with an amazing breakfast thus far!

Fantastic service. Great coffee. Amazing healthy meals. Huge servings. I cant fault this place. We had iced coffees, Buddha bowls and eggs Benedict. Beautifully prepared, quick and a nice welcoming vibe. Would eat here everytime I needed a brunch or lunch fix in Taupo. Don't...be put off by the previous reviews. Order from the Menu and enjoy. We stopped here for breakfast on New Years Day 2021. Ordered the chicken & waffles (10/10) and the eggs Benedict (9/10). Both my partner and I were stuffed by the end! It was delicious! Huge portions, value for money is an understatement! The atmosphere was...great, chic and chill. The service was good, the baristas were friendly and helpful! Clean and light. All in all a 9.5/10. Only thing I could fault was that they were out of coconut milk which is how I take my coffee - no biggie tho, at least they offer it most of the time!More

Thanks so much for the wonderful review, so glad to hear you enjoyed your time with us! Apologies about the lack of coconut milk, the folks of Taupo love it so much practically nowhere could source it for a few weeks! Hope to see you...More

After changing hands earlier in the year this place has gone from a top contender in place to eat to one I will AVOID from now on! A while after changing hands I went back to get the tried and tested falafel wrap, only to...find it to be a shadow of its former self.. ALL the ingredients had been changed and it had absolutely no flavour compared to what it used to be! (although reasonably price at 9.50) A few months had passed since then, i decided to give it another go..... Expensive mistake. I got a tropical smoothie bowl for $17, which came in a medium size smoothie cup, it came with fruits, granola and coconut yogurt, unfortunately it was primarily smoothie with those toppings only sitting on the top. I will not be coming back here!More

Very disappointing that we used to visit this place on a regular basis before lockdown. Tried it again this morning for two coffees and a sausage roll between us. The coffees were “warm” the sausage roll arrived and was cold in the middle so it...went back, only to be returned from the microwave a couple of minutes later piping hot and soggy. Had a small amount but it was a yucky texture and no taste to it and no apology from the staff! Got out quickly and won’t be going back. 2 x Coffees 1 x Sausage Roll $19.90! RIP OFF!More

This was a shocker coffee was lukewarm and the sausage roll was cold when it came out when we told staff they took it away it came back piping hot and soggy it had obviously been stuck in a microwave it was awful tasteless so...we left what a shame we used to come here every week before the lockdown won’t be going backMore

We especially sought out this cafe, having read about it. That was a mistake! No prices were displayed on the cabinet food. I later discovered that I was charged $12.90 for a piece of salmon tart, (no garnish or side salad) which was served luke...warm & rubbery - suspected it had been microwaved. My husband's $5.00 scone was doughy! The cutlery caddy on the table was basically empty, despite it being the morning. So I had to ask for cutlery & serviettes. No smiles or apologies from the staff, who didn't seem to care at all.More

Keep hoping this place will get back to its old glory days, but every time I go something else has slipped. The nice bread has gone, now they use budget processed ham, the menus are falling apart and the staff no longer smile. Also I...agree with the comment below. When we were there we could see him coughing in the kitchen and never bothering to cover his mouth.More
