Amazing! Been here many times for dinner over the years and more recently on 30th December. Fantastic food and very attentive service and location on 2nd floor with views of the Lake make it the best Indian restaurant in Taupo. Will always come back when we are visiting Taupo. Highly recommend 👌 👍 ❤️

I've been here a few times and it never fails to disappoint. After each visit it solidifies itself as my favourite Indian restaurant.
The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and the service is prompt. The food is fantastic, and many of the vegetarian dishes can be made vegan.
To top it off, it's on the second floor on the lakefront, so if you can get a table near the window, then the view is amazing.

It hasn't been long since moved in Taupo from India and went to so many Indian restaurants in town but it was hard to find the taste of authentic Indian food. My neighbor recommended us this place and must say the quality and taste of the food was mind blowing. I'm vegetarian and they have so many options when it comes to Vegetarian snacks, curries as well as Indo Chinese food as well. Vegetarian Biryani, Butter Naan and mushroom mutter masala is one of my favorites meal. The ambience is so good, staff is professional. Also when it comes to providing quality food and quality services, must say Indian Delights is the best.

I ordered 2 butter chicken ($18.9 each) and 2 plain bread ( $3.90 each) take away. The guy on the counter charged me $50. 16. After paying I realized I
I paid more. When my food was delivered I asked if they charged people more for takeaways. They guy said they charge people extra on public holiday ( It was not public in Tauopo only in Auckland). Also take box did not have any spoon/ Fork and napkins.

Hi There,
Thank you for your feedback, Taupo region include in the Auckland anniversary holiday as per the NZ government holiday. so, therefore, we have to pay all staff time and a half and one alternative holiday. that's the reason we had a 10% surcharge on the Auckland anniversary. hope this clears your doubts and you didn't get charged extra. just for information, we have written at the counter and on the menu, 10 % surcharge applies on public holidays. sorry for the inconvenience.

Yesterday a group of 10 Taupo decided to have lunch to this place. We had 3 kids who usually don't eat Indian dishes and we bought them chips and chicken from a different business couple of blocks away. 6 adults who were already seated ordered drinks while waiting for the other adult who is with the kids getting them what they want from a nearby food shop. When he entered with the kids we were surprised that the manager refused entry as their policy does not allow food from outside. He asked to leave the business and was offered to stay out in the street and wait for kids to finish their lunch before coming in. Indian Delights staff didn't want 3 kids under 8 with 2 Happy meal boxes and a snack box in their business. The way the whole situation was handled was unacceptable. I have been in NZ over a decade and never had bad an experience as this one. Apparently they didn't give a damn.

It was a great experience to dine-in at Indian delights. In particular the goat curry with cheese naan and salt and pepper prawns were mouth watering. Staff was also proffesionally and attentive. A definite recommendation for food lovers.

On behalf of Pukekohe Indian Association Women Group I would like to thank Rajwinder and her wonderful team mates of Indian Delight for a great evening. Very well arranged. Excellent food. We were 31 one of us but had great fun. The restaurant’s seating arrangements is place very spaciously… we had great fun In playing games. All senior members of the group too felt very very comfortable. The staff were very kind and understanding.
Thanks to all of you Rajwinder. Will visit again.

We are on a Motorhome family trip Around Central North Island from Auckland and today were Visiting Taupo on our way to Napier and stopped over for lunch at Indian Delight.
The food was just top Indian taste and of course great quality.Amongst the items on the menu we order Methi Malai mutter for the vegetarians in the group and amongst Goat Biryani,Chicken Tikka and Charcoal chicken for the others.
No regrets on any of them relishing every morsel
of the meal.
The best part of the whole thing was the amazing customer experience delivered by the staff-Pramod Kanade who added spice to our visit.He was very helpful and went that extra mile with a constant smile
Will definetly recommend this restaurant to all my friends and hope to revisit soon.
Don’t give this restaurant a miss when in Taupo👍👍

We had an enjoyable time at Indian Delights. Both the view and food were equally pleasant. We had special dietary requirements and the restaurant was able to cater that with no problems. The service was great - staff members were warm and attentive. Food portions were also fairly generous and we left the restaurant feeling very full and content :)

Wonderful food. Flavoursome goat saag with a perfect level of spice for me (medium) same with a chicken tikka masala. Both hot and fresh and didnt have to wait long at all! Accompanied by butter naan and a garlic naan plus a glass each of the shaky bridge pinot noir (delicious!!!!) Our server was so wonderful without being intrusive. Impromptu dine in as we originally went to order take out but really glad we stayed. Sat in the semi outdoor type area overlooking the lake which was surprisingly well heated and I was verging on hot as we left. Will definitely be back many times

This place got everything what we need for 10 of us, cocktails, mock-tails, Tap Beer, huge range of wine and delicious mango lassi but my favourite was chilli margarita, Tandoori prawns Indian style butter chicken garlic and cheese naan. all of us was very happy and missing to going back again. as we live in Auckland can't go when ever we want but definitely coming back. best Indian restaurant we have been. especial thanks to chef.

Great Authentic Indian Meal with friendly service. Meal came out quickly and was yum, not shy on portion amounts for the price. Great views from our table by the window, will definitely go back when in the area. Was tucking into our meals and forgot to take a picture but can recommend the lamb vindaloo hit and lamb madras.

Upstairs and overlooking Lake Taupo this would be hard to beat if you like genuine indian food (who doesn't). A good selection of fresh dishes including all the old favourites. I had sag chicken and would return just to have that again. Their margaritas weren't bad either. Quick service and very affordable.

We visited for dinner as a family of four. The food was absolutely incredible. Hubby loved the mixed meat platter & the curry is the best we have had (Bhuna Lamb). Good service. Would definitely go back here.

My husband and I ate at this wonderful restaurant last night. There are many Indian restaurants in Taupo but this was exceptional. The salt and pepper prawns were just spicy enough with meaty prawns and many of them. Also the chicken tikka was wonderful. We had Goan fish curry with coconut rice and garlic naan for our main which also was delicious and just enough spice to make it interesting but not too hot. The service was exceptional and very friendly. We would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant if you enjoy good Indian food. Thank you.
