Situated on the grass at Tasman Parade, Holy Guacamole serves delicious Mexican food only a stones throw from the beach. We're open from December until March. Holy Guacamole is also available to hire to cater private functions and will be making appearances at select events throughout Taranaki.

Delicious, generous servings of guacamole and burritos with a large range of fillings. Great advice of how to make the best guacamole from someone who grew up in the culture.

Ventured out of New Plymouth with the kids and found this cool hot spot. Food was fast, pork burrito and beef burrito bowls were delicious and we got to enjoy them on the beach even!

We are Americans living in Taiwan taking our first tour of NZ and first in an RV and were staying at the Oakura Beach Holiday Park. We wanted to eat out one night and started walking towards the town when we stumbled on Holy Guacamole's food truck. We have been craving Mexican food so felt it was good karma to find them there. The food was quite good and we were all happy at our good fortune. The girls running it were delights and made a damn good burrito. Go.

Came across this during a stay at the holiday park. Nice sounds playing, nice vibes. Great location. We had high hopes for some tasty Mexican street food. We ordered a veggie quesadilla and a burito bowl. After 45 minutes, I enquired on when I may expect the food. The cook was rather rude about it, giving me some excuse about waiting on rice. I would suggest some reflection on customer service may be of benefit. I don't think it unreasonable to expect street food to be ready a fair bit quicker than that. On getting the food back to camp, it was inedible. Both meals were overpowered with chilli powder to the extent my partner threw up. A very disappointing experience - the heavy handed approach to chilli was either spitefulness or culinary incompetence. Won't be back

Holy Guacamole is located in a small park down my the beach in Oakura. It’s a great spot to brink a picnic blanket and relax and watch the sunset on a beautiful summers day.
The food is amazing. I have visited the spot a few times already this summer and tried a range of burritos and quesadillas.
The key things to note from my experience:
keep an eye on their social media if you are planning to go, if they get fresh fish they will add fish burritos to the menu for that night, spicy fish burrito is the best thing you’ll eat all year!!
It is a food truck that tends to get very busy, with a limited kitchen size the wait times can get a bit long. So either get in early, or make a good picnic out of it by setting up a blanket some seats and relaxing.
All of the food I have tried here has been amazing. If you love a good burrito then this is the place to visit!

Love their burritos! Friendly service, yummy flavours, one of my fav takeaways!
Great to enjoy by the beach, just wish they were in town in the evenings as well as in Oakura.
Have also tried their chicken quesadillas as well, quite nice if those are your thing.

Some of the best value for money I've found in a takeaway.
The food is fresh, loaded with big taste, and generously portioned.
Holy Guacamole makes it easy to ring in and pick up your order, purchase a loyalty card, and make it part of your 'go to' takeaway repertoire.
I get it that they move to the beach in summer, but I miss them in the city.
Walk away full, with a great meal!

Went to the Friday night market and thought we'd try it as we love Mexican. It ended up being a 45min wait for 2 quesadillas which was fine. But they didn't bother to tell anyone, just carried on taking orders without informing anyone of the wait time. Both my husband and I are vegetarian and it always is a bit disappointing when it's the same price for the veggie option as the meat options. However if it's good I wouldn't mind so much! When it came it was quite underwhelming. We got a mushroom oregano one and a corn black bean one. Both came with a sludge of "guacamole " which ironically was terrible!! It was blended up avocado to a puree and it really wasn't seasoned in the slightest. It wasn't a nice chunky guacamole with a limey/salty tang I enjoy.
The quesadillas were fine but just so small for the price. When you can get a large Turkish meal of falafel, salad and rice for the same price (which ironically would take more effort and cost to make..) I just felt a bit ripped off.

Great to find a Mexican food truck serving delicious Burritos on SH45. This would also be great spot to chill on a nice summer evening but it can be busy so pick your moment.

Great Mexican food, delicious Burritos. Also a great spot to chill on a nice summer evening. They have had some live music on Friday recently which really adds to the summer vibes. Food comes out fairly quickly considering the size of the operation.

The holy guacamole team are so lovely and cheerful. Their food is yummy, quick and cheap. It's a shame it's getting to winter time now, otherwise we would always be there!

Brilliant mexican food in the middle of Oakura. You will need to get there early as they are so popular. A simple menu done extremely well. We go regularly as the food is so good. Try the brownies.

On a hot summers evening there si no better way to unwind than to grab a bean chair in front of the Holy Guacamole caravan and eat a delicious freshly prepared burrito. With staff that are so friendly a meal here is the perfect kiwi experience for local or traveller alike even if the food is not traditional kiwi fare. Kids size meals available too and you can call and pre-order.
