Plant-Based Cafe in New Plymouth CBD. With plenty of out-side seating right in the heart of the city. Offering fresh, flavorsome super-foods that caters for a vegan, vegetarian and plant-based diet. We are open Tuesday-Saturday, 8am till 4pm. Our Breakfast menu and delicious deli is made by our creative Chefs. We have a wide selection from our hot buffet, fresh salads, sandwiches, toasties and dressings all served to you by our friendly staff. We will also have an assortments of retail goods available online and in store. Our Coffee is a local roaster, winning the 2021 'Gold Organic NZ' award. Our Smoothie Bar has a variety of Immunity boosting, raw ingredients. With plenty of alternative milks available. We also specialize in the best selection of raw, refined sugar free and gluten free slices, baked goods and wholesome cakes. We cater for groups and functions on request. Our food is made with Peace Love & Gratitude.

This café by far has the tastiest vegan/vegetarian food with so much variety and food that makes you feel satisfied and nourished. Wild pear kitchen is allergy friendly, so it is inclusive for anyone with specific dietary needs with no compromise on taste and quality. The portions are great value for money, everyday there are different hot dish flavours and a new variety of salads, the dressing options are great aswell. One of my highlights would be the pickle plant toastie, it is so flavourful creamy and delicious and melts in your mouth accompanied by beautiful sourdough made here in Taranaki. The sweets in the cabinet are very tasty, i am so glad to have such an amazing café in Taranaki where i can go to eat food that is healthy, vegan and tasty. Thank you to the wonderful staff at wild pear kitchen you never disappoint! 🍐🌱

We called in the day before to ask if they did cooked breakfasts, they said yes they would, we were looking for something for the next day. Next day when we arrived, they said the morning hadn’t been going to well for them, this was quite early, but said they could create us a breakfast and offered us some items which we said yes to. Our breakfast turned up, Potatoe rosti with scrambled eggs, mushrooms, a bit of spinach and a tomato, it was the best breakfast we had had all week, everything was cooked to perfection the presentation was beautiful, it even has some small flowers. The flavours were supurb, really can’t say enough, and it was extremely good value for money and a very good portion size. Coffee was also very good and once again probably the best of all the coffee we had tried in New Plymouth. We decided to get a couple of takeaway muffins, they were vegan muffins and although very nice, vegan muffins are probably not us. So well done girls. Thank you.

This is arguably the best vegetarian & vegan place I’ve been to in NZ. I can’t recommend the food enough, even if you’re a meat eater I would be amazed if you didn’t love this place for its delicious food and friendly vibe. Congrats to the whole team!

Beautiful presentation and Flavour to Match

My husband purchased a chocolate mudcake with seasonal flowers from Wild Pear for my birthday and everyone who saw it was just blown away by how gorgeous it looked and how delicious it tasted. Best part? It was 100% vegan so no animals were harmed during its creation. Highly recommend this cake known as "The Works". :-)

Great value and satisfying vegetarian buffet

Pick a plate size and help yourself from a good variety of hot dishes and salads. We took our 2 teenage sons who are not vegetarian and they came away full from the $15 plate each. We all particularly liked the cannelloni. Friendly service, cool music (not too loud) and a nice atmosphere. Hard to beat for lunch.

Amazing Vegan Buffet

Me and my girlfriend came here to get a coffee and after seeing the vegan buffet lunch we had to stay. They have small, medium, large plates you select what plate you want and fill up from a selection of hot and cold foods. We filled up the plate to the brim. They had loads to offer with lots of gluten free options. Was an amazing find the prices are very fair for the amount you can have would highly recommend.

Wild pear kitchen is my favourite cafē in New Plymouth by far!! The food never fails to disappoint and always makes me come back for more, the breakfast menu by far is my favourite thing about this little gem of a shop, would recommend to anyone and everyone wanting to eat clean good soul food!!

My husband introduced me to this cafe for lunch and I was so amazed by the vegan buffet that I insisted on having lunch their 3 days in a row. It would have been 4 days but they're closed on Sundays :) The food was so tasty and extremely good value. Choose a plate size small, medium or large, and fill it with scrumptious dishes from the vegan buffet. If I lived in New Plymouth it would hands-down be my favourite lunch-time vegan cafe.

The Best Breakfast in town

Just travelled to New Plymouth for the week from Auckland on business and safe to say this is by far the best cafe in the region catering to us vegetarians/vegans. Lovely kind staff, excellent coffee and beautiful welcoming ambience. A bonus is the deck seating right out the front of the business, will definitely be back for our Summer holiday

What a lovely find! This was just outstanding. Every item of food that was in the cabinet or came out of the kitchen looked amazing. My partner and my dishes we had at lunch today were fabulous. This cafe and cuisine could hold its own in any international city of the world. The service was divine too. Such lovely people! Thank you so much!!

Great new Vegan Cafe’ in New Plymouth

Chere and her wonderful team have raised the bar for healthy eating in little old New Plymouth. Delicious whole food plant based offerings to tempt everyone and perhaps convert some of those meat eaters out there. 😜Great food - all made with heaps of love. It’s my regular go to. The vibe is refreshing and upbeat. The staff are all friendly and customer focussed. Eat in or outside or take away. There is even a large outside seating area called The Decks where you can meet with your buddies over lunch. See you there! 😁

Plant Based Wholefood Goodness

There’s something for everyone and it doesn’t disappoint. Whether you’re vegan/vegetarian or looking for something different for breakfast or lunch, Wild Pear is the place to go. Their sweet treats are my personal favourites with the Cheesecakes and Carrot Cake being at the top. Super friendly staff who are passionate about food.

Vegan, Vegetarian, Plant Based food. 🥑 Beautiful Salads, an easy mix it up of my 5 daily colours in one meal between Salads & Hot Foods. Cakes & Slices, many Gluten Free choices. Good Coffee. Friendly service. Artisan Breads, a range of produce & Flowers. Excellent outdoor dining. Loved our vibrant Green Smoothie & 2 Salad +,1 Chickpea Curry bowl lunch.
