The most beautiful meal and atmosphere!
The food was Devine, we ordered onion bhaji, Garlic naan and Butter chicken. Was unbelievably the best Indian cuisine I have ever had.
The staff were so wonderful and accomodating. Meals and drinks were served so fast amongst big and smaller bookings at the same time.
The atmosphere is so authentic and beautiful. Feels so warm and inviting from the deep details of each table, to the wall decor including the beautiful clay wall and dried floating floral arrangements. Such a gorgeous venue. Clean and tidy.
Would highly recommend and will definitely be back again soon!

From start to finish this was a great experience. The waiting staff were friendly and attentive and always smiling, made us feel like we were welcome. We had a great seat in the window too! The decor is beautiful and the atmosphere was lovely. The food was show-stopping and so tasty! I had the chicken lababdar and even 2 days later I haven't stopped thinking about how delicious it was!!! Beautiful! My husband had the lamb nawabi and that tasted divine, such beautiful flavours. There are some talented chefs in that kitchen!! The currys we have eaten in New Zealand have been average to say the least (we're from the UK so curry is a regular dish for us!) and this place is a game changer. We will be back and we would be there every week but a 6 hour round trip from Hamilton is a little excessive LOL! Everyone, I highly recommend you dine here, it's the best! Thank you to the team !

As a family, our recent dining experience at India Today Bistro & Tandoor in New Plymouth was exceptional. The restaurant’s beautiful decor and lovely atmosphere made for a pleasant setting.
The service was outstanding, with the staff going above and beyond to accommodate our needs. We were particularly impressed by Rumaine, who provided attentive and friendly service throughout our meal.
The food was show-stopping and incredibly tasty. We enjoyed a variety of dishes, each bursting with authentic flavours.
Overall, we highly recommend India Today Bistro & Tandoor for families seeking a memorable dining experience in New Plymouth. Five stars!

Wow! They've moved next door to where they used to be but man, did they take the opportunity to ramp up their prices! What normally used to cost us $130-140 came to over $233 - and that was just a cheap shared starter and 4 mains with 2 beers and 2 cokes. Yes, it's good quality food but the portions are on the small side. Just for good measure, the service also appears to have got worse and was very slow (nearly an hour). We've enjoyed your cuisine over the years; thank you for all the good memories but sorry, this is where we part ways...

Ordered a single takeaway butter chicken in the restaurant and was told 25-30min wait. I nearly asked for my money back when they said they’d do it quicker. I wish I had asked for my money back because the butter chicken is watery and flavourless and the naan is chewy, reheated and dry. Disappointing and it’s expensive. Had a few bites and threw it in the bin. Go elsewhere

My husband and I decided to place a takeaway order at India Today (as part of our wedding anniversary celebration). As we had heard fave reviews about the "Hawker's Hunt" dish, we decided to order that. We went to collect the order, which was ready when stated and carefully packed up. Although we had placed a takeaway order for convenience, seeing the luxurious decor of the restuarant, we would have been more than happy to have dined in. The friendliness of the front of house staff certainly made us feel that we would have been warmly welcomed and well taken care of.
Once trying the dish at home it certainty lived up to all the hype, as it was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. Loved the chicken main and the three side dishes.
Will definitely be ordering again and trying some other dishes. Might dine in next time though. Can highly recommend.

Front of house staff pleasant enough. Lamb was tough; our meals lacked the special zing that we recall from previous visits to this restaurant in its old tenancy.
Overall: average at best.

We are from Auckland but always visit India Today when in New Plymouth . The team there have been consistent in providing authentic cuisine with excellent personable service over many years . We really enjoyed our meal while attending the recent Taranaki Garden Festival . So glad that the India Today team have navigated their way through the hugely challenging lock down times and are here to carry on providing beautiful cuisine . Some times I wonder whether some reviewers over the last couple of years actually appreciate what it must have been like to hold a restaurant together during those times and even now . Give restauranteurs a break I think

We were told by our uber driver to review whichever restaurant we went to.
We had a poppadum platter and onion bhajis to start - the bhajis are more like upmarket onion rings but still good, poppadums were good but a very stingey amount of dips (i.e. 1 teaspoon worth).
Mains were a chicken korma, a beef randang, and naans. Quality and portion size was good but a little lacking from the Koi days.

The place was busy when we arrived with a busy bar and a full restaurant. Great environment and welcoming and the smells were delicious. There was a long wait. However it was worth the wait, the food was delicious, spicy, fragrant and plentiful. The service was friendly, despite all the staff being under the pump. Drinks list - wide range of beers to choose from, overall would go again and recommend it to others.

The food is good but if you are going to order online good luck getting your order right they always muck it up .. things missing ...Im sorry to say but I think they are dishonest. Today I ordered through deliver easy app I asked for full grilled chicken tikka they gave me about 4 pieces and charged me for the full amount and this is not the first time they do that . I’m not going to order again from them . A very unhappy customer here , trust me it won’t happen again cause this will be the last time they get my custom

We dined in this even with 3 young kids. After nearly 2 hours waiting for food we got up and walked out and asked to box food for takeaway. They still made us wait even longer for the takeaway. Add to this a sur charge on a Sunday, run down decor and a leaking roof.

The restaurant was well appointed with enough room between tables to enable privacy.
The staff were helpful, efficient and pleasant.
The food was excellent and if we were staying in New Plymouth longer we would definitely repeat a very pleasant experience.

I came to this restaurant for the first time, great location and I loved the decor inside and the friendly customer service we got. The menu had a great variety of Indian dishes and non Indian dishes.
For dinner, I decided to order the chicken biryani. The food doesn't take that long to come only between 25-30 minutes. The chicken biryani had great presentation in a beautiful bowl. with the raita and coriander yogurt on the side.
I am not a expert on chicken biryani. The rice was cooked well, but I would off have liked more depth of flavour and more chicken it mostly had rice and cashew nuts. The raita was alright but more seasoning. Overall it was good, but I was expecting it to be amazing since it was also quite pricy ($28).
Overall. I would like to return and try something else.

The food was excellent and so was the service. I had Butter Chicken with Cheese & Garlic Naan which was awesome. My wife had a Meat Sizzler over greens (gluten-free) which was also very good. They were very conscientious about gluten allergies. The price are reasonable. The restaurant has a vey nice ambiance and a cozy bar.
