This was a bit like eating in a friend's house. Intimate, friendly, other patrons there as groups. Nice home-made food.

Stepping into peppers is like going back to cafes in the 1970's. Rightly so as the serving staff didn't seem a day under 70 themselves. nonetheless they serve honest homemade food at a very reasonable price. I had the smoked fish pie of the day...More

This cafe must be one of Rotorua’s best kept secrets. Mick and Judy, the owners for the last 5 years have an extensive and successful background in catering and spit-roasts. They prepare delicious food for the café and also for corporate functions, delivering morning teas, lunches, and afternoon teas for conferences or meetings. They can also cater for weddings at your choice of venue, breakfasts or lunches for tour groups – in fact, any function that you may be organizing, and any time of the day that will suit you, even to preparing packed lunches for travellers. They specialize in spit-roasts where you can have lamb, pork or beef and as they roast over charcoal you get that delicious flavour. The café can be hired for private functions, or they will cater at your place. Call in and enjoy their delicious coffee/tea with any of their freshly made cooked breakfasts and lunches, sandwiches, rolls, savories and cakes. Café is open Mon – Fri but will open other days/ times/hours by arrangement for groups, and Mick and Judy are always very happy to discuss any catering or spit-roasts bookings with you, and even will cater in nearby towns or cities.
