Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Had the lamb shank (nicely spiced and tasty), ginger chicken (ok, not much ginger flavour though) and fries with aioli ( very good fries, needs a larger serving of aioli). Service was efficient, not particularly friendly or engaging. Played ‘dessert bingo’ at the end -...if they ask, we’ll order one, if they don’t, we won’t. They didn’t. Maybe because it was the end of lunch service? It seemed understaffed and the area around the bar was very messy and a bit chaotic which doesn’t give the best impression. Overall - disappointing, they need to up their game. There are plenty of other restaurants on Eat Street and around, I’d try one of those rather than return here.More

First off, didn't get to eat here, this is not a review of the food. Our AirBnB made a reservation, which we listened in on, and were confirmed for a 1915 reservation. When we showed up, the hostess said they didn't show anyone at 1915...with a reservation. We told them how our AirBnB called and that they send people there every night and they acted like they didn't know about the place. Very unusual Too bad, as we had looked forward to it but found the pub across the way quite good.More

Really enjoyed our meal here - good range of dishes, and ours worked really well together. Spicy chicken, disco chips, beetroot salad, bread rolls/garlic, with lamb main. Good range of wines available too. Staff were great, friendly and knowledgeable.

Awesome dinner at Atticus Finch. Food was delicious and service was great. We ordered the lamb rump and 2 sides. Perfect portions for two people. The dessert Pavlov was so light and delicious.

One of the better meals we had in NZ, albeit in a very noisy setting, at high tables, on stools (not ideal). It was quite expensive for the serving sizes, however most of the dishes were lovely. Worth a visit.

Excellent, varied menu. Great vibe and friendly staff. We visited three times over our stay and I could quite happily come back again and continued working through the menu. Worth doing a quick online table reservation to avoid disappointment.

I visited Atticus Finch on 8 January for dinner. After ten minutes, I had to ask for the menus to be brought. I then ordered the starter and main recommended by the waiter: the spiced chicken and the lamb rub. I also ordered two glasses...of wine, which took 30 minutes to arrive. A little later, the lamb arrived (it looked alright, but nothing special). When I asked a waitress to be served the starter first, I was shown a lot of attitude, as if I was being unreasonable. I was then told that the main had been ordered 10 minutes before the starter. When I said that that wasn't correct, I was accused of lying! When I asked the waitress to bring round the original waiter, she refused to do so, and said that she might have to ask me to leave! I took the opportunity and left. I have travelled to over thirty countries for work and eaten in over a thousand restaurants, and this was the worst service I have ever experienced—and, if I may say, very atypical of friendly New Zealand.More

Beautiful food and amazing service. Loved the vibe and the attention to every single dish. We shared two small and two large platters and was the best choice. This place should be definitely the first choice of everyone in Rotorua for a business or a...family trip. Would definitely recommend it and come back!More

The outside was busy, the inside rather empty. The cocktails were tasty, but honestly seemed a little light on the spirits. We ordered a variety of small and large plates. The fried chicken was tasty but nothing spectacular. The beetroot side salad was quite good....The pork potstickers -ok. The Disco fries would have been amazing but the satay sauce was over salted. The beef main was not well cooked. The soy glazed pork lettuce wraps were not that good me certainly not worth the price. The green chicken curry was pretty good. All in all - no idea why it is so highly rated, and the final bill was a bit steep.More

Not sure how to feel about this place . The food was ok (but nothing special) but service a bit patchy and all ended a bit weirdly when , rather than being asked if we’d like anything else, we were informed the bar was closed...and could we pay the bill. Felt a very abrupt end to the evening and kind of summed up the slightly odd service throughout. We were really looking forward to this but left feeling underwhelmedMore

New Years Eve 2023. We shared 2 small shares and 2 large as recommended. 2 glasses of white wine and 2 glasses of red plus coffee. The food was very nice, a little salt missing on the lamb dish, but otherwise really delicious and good...proportions. The white wine was super, but the red Pinot Noir from Mishas Vineyard was served at room temperature, way to warm and not respectful for the wine - we were told by the polite waitress that this was what they did with red wines. We needed more attention to detail at this place. We had to ask for our wines as these were not served with or before the food. A fork was missing, the salt dispenser did not work plus it seems strange that when a restaurant “sells” that all dishes are suite for sharing, that the small sharing plates contains 5 pieces and not 4 or 6. Other than that the service was done with a lot of attention- but with an overall impression of lack of professionalism- or maybe a little too much of it. A pity, as this could have been a great experience as the food was very nice.More

After much research we choose to eat at Atticus Fitch. They were super friendly from the start and sat us immediately. The menu is interesting as it is NZ with an Asian twist. All the food was good. We had the Korean Fried chicken which...was moist, the pork dumplings were tasty - and they had a nice wine list.More

Nearby to our hotel. The food was quite good. We shared a plate of Veggie Dumplings. very good. My wife had Chicken Tikka and I had a Veggie Thali Plate. Both were very good and tasty. Service was good as well. A very eclectic and...diverse menu. Open air and covered patio as well as seating indoors.More

The best spot to eat on Eat Street. Conveniently located across the street from the lake and the Novotel, Atticus Finch served a great fusion/tapas style dinner. It can get crowded and noisy but we beat the crowd by going early.
