We are vegetarian and we enjoyed vegetarian items here. The food is delicious. The Vietnamese veg. Salad was superb and the Vegetarian Noodle soup was sumptuous. We really liked the place - a very well run family restaurant with excellent food.

Went for a meal one night, they were so busy we left. I can understand that as everyone is short of staff at the moment with covid etc. We decided to go back for lunch instead. It was a cold wet day, perfect, they were...still busy but not so bad. He had the Beef Pho which he really enjoyed and I had the spicy lemongrass pho, that was so nice I would happily go back for more.More
We happened along this small and warm restaurant and were greeted by a delightful woman. The food is fresh, fabulous and ticks all the boxes. We will definitely be back.
Ordered off the menu to eat in but handed the meal in a take-way pack. BBQ pork on dry noodles came on wet noodles, like instant noodles. Chicken lemon grass soup was lamb not chicken per order (just 4 small slithers ). Neither meals looked...like the pictures on the wall. Overall a very disappointing experience.More
Don’t bother the baguette had been microwaved so stale and so not crispy as it should be, at $12.00 you would expect more, precooked pork with very little flavour, also ordered vegetable spring rolls tasted like the ones you get in the supermarket at 4.00...each not good value.More
Flavorsome food, wonderful salads, best pho 🍜 ever; loved reading the owners storyline on the wall, thank you👍
My 13 year old and shared quick takeaway fried rice whilst we were travelling. It was delicious. Would definitely try more options if we were in the area again.
Nice place.. decent menu.. Been here twice. Had the beef Pho both times.. one the spicy version.. the other normal.. I think the Price is a bit high for what it is.. as this should be a cheap meal..?? but it’s pretty good soup all...the same. I also got the Hot egg coffee… but it wasn’t hot but Luke warm at the most.. I told them and they took it back and made me another.. but it was the same..?? So not sure what’s the story with that?? As I don’t know how it’s supposed to be?? You have to order at the counter which is a bit of a pain.. and pay when u order which is also a pain?? Also had the summer rolls.. which are ok.. but didn’t think much of the sauce that comes with it..? As I have had some amazing dressing with them at other places. This place is good.. but not great.More
They serve a good bowl of pho here with some tasty beef, good broth and the right sauces. We were a little disappointed that they don't offer herb plates with the pho and the portion/cost of the spring rolls. The couple who own the place...have their story on the wall of the restaurant of how they came to New Zealand and opened a restaurant. Very good Vietnamese and worth a try!More
So impressed with service and food. Staff members are so kind, and food is just amazing. We had lemongrass beef noodle soup and classic beef pho, we were 120% satisfied. Strongly recommend this restaurant.
After the movies we were looking for a light dinner. After the splendid job which Saigon'60s and Mekong Buffalo did of a Vietnamese Lunch in the Rotorua Library, organised by the Rotorua Multicultural Council, we wanted to try Saigon'60s in-house menu. Husband ordered the thinly...sliced pork, served on rice with a small salad. He enjoyed it with a Bundeberg ginger beer. I had deliciously fresh vegetables with a bit of pork and prawn in summer rolls, served with a slightly spicy sauce. There was a warm welcome, quiet Vietnamese music, and the charming story of the small, family-owned restaurant painted on the wall. The very clear menu pictures on the wall made me decide to come back for the seafood salad. The restaurant is easy to find, opposite the Police Station on Fenton Street, Rotorua.More
Good prices, delicious food, and good portion sizes!! My friends and I got the pho, Vietnamese pancake, spring rolls, and banh mi, all of which everyone liked. We were so full in the end. Would come back here
Very authentic Vietnamese food! Some of the best food we have had in all of New Zealand. We went multiple times during our 3 days in Rotorua!
Authentic food, cozy atmosphere, amazing service. I ordered a bow of Spicy Lemongrass Beef Noodle Soup and I love it! Highly recommended.
Can't say enough how I love this restaurant. I come here every week whenever I crave some Vietnamese food. I have been to Vietnam and all of Saigon '60s's noodle soup are quite authentic.
