We love this place. We were so dissapointed to find it on our last day of holiday - now we know where to go when we are in Rotorua. It's fabulous! Great for kids too.

We got there as fri early lunch rush hit (d'oh) which included a reserved table of about 8 older folk. Cafe is fairly small so having a rush was a bit chaotic, there would have been no way to social distance. Initially we sat outside...because inside was full, but the wind came up and was cold so we changed tables when available. Coffee took a while, they were so busy, but food was fairly quick considering (although they did have to be reminded about a slice of cake that had been paid for, no biggie). I had my customary bacon-and-banana pancakes. Bacon REALLY good, and almost whole banana (tips cut off and banana cut in half longways) grilled in its skin. Pancakes were Quality-Bakers hotcake style, could have come out of a packet which is either a good sign of consistent results or an acknowledgement that in a small, busy kitchen sometimes shortcuts are necessary. Partner enjoyed his BLT. Coffee was a little bitter for me, common across many cafes. Not undrinkably so. Cafe IS wheelchair/walker/small pram accessible and relies on customers being aware/considerate with their chairs, but the ramp exit is not clearly marked from inside so one elderly lady almost tried to take her walker down a few steps before it was pointed out.More
Visited Arts Village Café with friends for lunch. We were there during the week and the café was reasonably full. The choice of both cabinet food and that ordered from the menu was very good. The food was well prepared and the staff polite and...friendly. Overall the service was very good. There is plenty of car parking nearby and an art and craft shop adjoins.More
Average. Photos look better than it tastes, we were really disappointed that the chicken is clearly straight from a box. Was a really shame as everything else with the chicken was nice and fresh and flavoursome, but the main event is cheap and tasteless. Friends...were also disappointed with the quality of meat in their meals, when other places in town are the same price and you receive better quality fresh meat, not prepackaged, pre frozen meat. Some of the older bits of furniture look a bit unhygienic for a cafe. Place has lots of character, a bit on the pokey side when busy. Coffee is good, staff are polite.More
Meat not great quality and very bitter slaw. Will not return. Has hope to make it a regular thing. Kids loved it.
These guys are absolutely lovely! Fantastic service and incredible food. Atmosphere is great too. They literally whipped me up a bowl of cream by hand on request...who does that!? Definitely recommend! 10/10
This cafe has great food, friendly service and pleasant surroundings. We had lunchhere recently and would recommend it as a lovely spot, tucked away in a unique setting with a good variety of seating options both inside and out. Looking forward to our next visit😊
A real find, located on the edge of the Government Gardens. Light meals (sandwiches, burgers etc.) cakes and pastries available. Order and pay at the counter and your order is brought to your table. Some outside seating in front and behind the café, which is...located in the Arts Village. Staff were friendly, helpful, chatty and efficient. Some comfy, armchair seating is available as is free Wi-Fi; toilets available inside the Arts Village.More
Food, coffee and service was first class. Artsy, bohemian vibe that caters to all dietary needs.I strongly recommend a visit.
This Cafe has a great vibe and is always a pleasure to visit. The staff are of the highest calibre. You wont find better anywhere else. They are proffesional, always smiling, and always helpful and accomodating to your needs. Its hard to find a cafe...that is so well rounded off. The food is incredible and the chef puts alot of love into her food. What a great and well balanced cafe. Highly recommend. Thanks ladies for all your hard work. You are all amazing.More
