Staff in this place are a credit to themselves, busy, attentive with happy attitudes.
Food was good also, lamb salad was mean, and the cocktails are outstanding, try at least the secret island cocktail.
This place is good value all round.
If you want to celebrate with your whole family Jimmy Jacks is the place to go!. You can't go past the great service, nice surroundings, and the delicious food. They have the best Ribs in the North. Our family's favourite meal that you can't get...anywhere else is definitely the platter with ribs and so many other finger licking things. Don't miss out!More
Ordered the chicken fettuccine dish. The chicken was way too smoky and not pleasant eating at all. I avoided eating the chicken but unfortunately the pasta was also too smoky to enjoy. I could only manage to eat one third of the serving as it...was horrible. Was very disappointed and the dish was not cheap.. will never eat here again.More
We had the rib shack recommended to us. We were advised to go early in our stay as we would would want to return. They were right. This restaurant is awesome. The staff are friendly and the place has a great vibe. The food is...AMAZING!!!!. Sometimes for everyone. The Teriyaki steak stir-fry was soooooo good! Restaurants visited since, have left us a little disappointedMore
Food was really slow. I had to ask for the kids food to at least be bought out as they had waited for about 45mins already. But when it did arrive, Food was great!! No problems with this.
Our big family who made the trip...to camp at Russell before kids went back to school from Auckland, so we thought to catch the passenger Ferry over to Paihia for dinner. There were 6 Adults, 10 children and 2 infants. As you can imagine, it would require a big table. They placed us in the separate room that goes to the back which we were happy with just because of the children. They placed another family who were European, in the same room with us. 5mins later, the lady from this European family walked to the waiter, then they started moving into the main lobby whilst mentioning "our children were too loud". Fair enough. But then the waiter watched us the whole night making it uncomfortable for us all. We could not believe our children were exposed to this kind of "racism". Very disappointing! Had the waiter still treated us with the same energy he had when we walked in, experience wouldve been better.More
We’ve been many times over the years. We were seated at 545pm, ordered not long after and had to wait 40mins for our food.
We had ribs, prawn cocktail and crab dip all to come out at the same time.
The ribs were all sauce...and little meat and disappointing on previous years. Crab dip was yummy and prawn cocktail was plentiful.
However can not understand how it would take 40mins to deliver this food.
We were sat out the back, and getting staff attention was impossible. No one checked in on us, nor asked how our meals were.
Really poor service. And given other options available in Paihia we’ll be taking our business to them in the future.More
Absolutely disappointing! My husband and son went there yesterday to grab a table for 4 for some drink and lunch. The waitress at the door, said to my husband and that all 4 should be present at the same time! Only then we would be...allowed in. My daughter and I was just 10 mins away, as we we're at a nearby shop. My husband asked her why? Why can't he and and our son go in first and 10 mins later my daughter and I will be there. The waitress just said that, it would be easier on them. Don't know what she mean by that. So, my husband and son, went to another place called Bad Habits (just a street over), asked the waiter at the door if he and my son could come in, have a drink, while they wait for my daughter and me. The waiter at Bad Habits replied "of course".. so we are here and having a nice time.More
