The coffee and food are fine - not exceptional, but not bad. The customer service is not great, though, and makes for an awkward experience. The woman at the counter (maybe the manager? Maybe not) was not overly friendly, and it felt like sitting for...a coffee was an imposition. It later became clear that she’s anti-mask - and while everyone can have an opinion, it seemed like an extreme hill to die on during COVID restrictions. Again, she came across as rude and abrupt, and the rejection of mask mandates just made for an overall unpleasant experience. Won’t be going back.More

We had a fabulous lunch here one day, the choice of food was brilliant for a small cafe and the coffee was great.

Ordered a toasted sandwich which when eventually arrived was inedible - partly because it was so hard (two crusts of very crispy sourdough sandwiching lots of pickle, lots of onion and not much cheese - if any). It tasted awful. Asked for sugar for coffee...and advised they only had coconut sugar??? Managed to eat nearly half of the toasted sandwich but when leaving was asked if I needed a bag to take the other half home. I politely refused! Will not be going backMore

Sour Woman at Front Counter. I asked one question about the salmon on the menu (where was it sourced, as I’m looking to avoid farmed salmon because of its negative health effects etc since I am recovering from chemo and blood cancer treatments) and I...was given a sassy answer with plenty of hateful attitude. I then asked if they were closing and she said they could make me a burger or whatever was in the case and that they were closing in 20 minutes. I made an order and then she asked me if it was take away or dine in and she gave more attitude, I was about to pay with my pay wave but then thought better of it. I don’t want to eat food made with hate. I left, no Aloha or Aroha. Skip this place... so many other better places that can serve you in town. There are better ways to interact with customers that are coming in before closing. No excuses. 👎 I’ll spend my money somewhere else. Check out Alfresco or Green’s Thai/ Indian, much better experiences at these other area restaurants.More

I’ve never been spoken to with such disrespect in my 33 years of living! A family of 8 came here for coffee and smoothies. A smoothie was left out and instead of problem solving the lady behind the counter accused and wouldn’t let us speak...at all. Would NOT recommend - tank juices has better smoothies then this.More

Striving for funky but feels second hand ☹️. Hubby had the avocado brekky and was disappointed with the sauerkraut which was free of flavour. Eggs on kumera was pretty good. Coffee very strong but hubbies earl grey tea we think was probably swapped out for...a Dandelion one LOL!More

We came here two days running for lunches and coffees. Food is mainly vegetarian or vegan with some fish. Had a great salad bowl with quinoa, feta and roasted vegetables on day one. Day two I went for the nachos with black beans, cheese, salsa...and sour cream. Both good and a healthy option on our travels. Just a word on the coffee, which we take very seriously, the flat white with two shots was good and strong with a good thick foam topping - perfect.More

The best flat white we have had in the last 6 weeks touring New Zealand as it was strong with a great flavour. Cute little place too.
