They do a 5 course degustation or without the wine for $70 which I think is very reasonable. You have an option of seafood based on meat/offal based but I believe 3 out of the 5 courses are the same. My wife and I both picked the seafood which was great the favourite dish for us both was the fish in a creamed paua type sauce. We did not go for the full degustation (with wine) but had an excellent bottle of local wine in fact tried to track down the winery on our way out the next day to purchase some. The staff were well trained and efficient spent a lot of time checking on everything making sure glasses were full, explaining each dish as it came out, the service matched the food. If you want a little something special at a reasonable price eat here.

Our first degustation, why have we waited so long! Really beautifully presented food carefully explained by well-informed wait staff, and we went with the matching wines. What a good decision! We tried many news local wines, all of them carefully chosen to match the food. The whole experience was superb. Do go.

What an experience! Dining here really does make your tastebuds come alive. We chose the seafood option and paired the wines with the food and had such amazing meals it’s actually hard to put the tastes into words. This restaurant isn’t for your usual, out for a basic meal, steak and chips kind of place..... this restaurant is an exciting food journey. It really does make eating exciting! If you want flavoursome and unique food that tastes amazingly delicious, then you want to visit Pacifica. The service was outstanding too - lovely, happy people serving super scrummy food and wine. We will definitely be back to try the other menu!! Thank you so much

We had heard good things about this restaurant and were looking forward to dining here, however were left very disappointed by our experience. It started well and we were warmly greeted by the wait staff. The first course was pleasant, but from here it went downhill. The second course of braised onion was absolutely terrible, the onion was undercooked with the skin still on, sitting on top of "tomato puree" which was flavourless and tasted like a cheap can of pizza sauce. The only good thing about this dish was the one kale chip on each dish. The next course of steamed pork was very overcooked and bland. The next course of venison was actually delicious, possibly the dish of the night, but absolutely tiny - about 3 thin shavings of raw venison. The dishes all came out really quickly, and there was no warmth or special service from the waitstaff once we were seated. It felt like we were being quickly pushed out the door. We left hungry and went home to sit on the front porch and enjoy cheese and wine at home which was a much better experience. We definitely would not be back or recommend this restaurant to others.

The food is truly sublime. Lovely combinations of textures, flavours, and ingredients. Wine pairings were beautifully chosen. Service was also of a very high caliber. Good pace of delivery for a 5-course degustation meal. The price is shockingly low compared to many other restaurants in NZ that offer degustation menus with wine pairings. Truly a must visit if you're in Napier.

Booked Pacifica for my wife's birthday dinner while in the area based on a local recommendation. Great call. We thoroughly enjoyed the 5 course tasting menu paired with NZ wines. My wife is gluten and egg free and they accommodated her with no issues. The staff was very attentive and added to a great dining experience.

Our favourite restaurant in Napier. Jeremy's magic in the kitchen left our taste buds humming and Natalie's wine matches were perfect. We love the small intimate space that is not over crowded and the fact we are never rushed, a real treat. The only thing that lets them down is the extremely casual dress of the wait staff, shorts and a black tee shirt does not quite hit the mark when the guests are all dressed nicely for a night out.

The food was excellent and the service fantastic...spot on. We chose a seafood based degustation and the meat based . We were very happy after our first 2 courses but amazingly the next 2 courses were even more stunning. Standouts were the fish with paua ( i did get food envy from this dish) and the bone marrow mousse with a kumera / bone marrow cake. The dessert was perfect and not too sweet. Some complain they are still hungry after eating here but we could not have eaten any more.prices were very reasonable. Loved the night and the special staff

The food and service is top notch. 2 out of the 6 of us had experienced Pacifica a few times before and it did not let us down. Our friends loved their first "classy" degustation experience - and I always have the wine pairing as I believe this tops off the explosion of deliciousness from the food. Jeremy and his partner Natalie know what it takes to provide classy dining. Thank you.

Had read about Pacifica in Cuisine and also other reviews, planned a weekend in Napier so we could go there. Absolutely superb- the attention to detail in every respect top class. Loved the intimacy of the place, and the fact it only seats up to 35, the peaceful ambience, food so innovative and such a treat to be able to taste such a range of seafood so cleverly executed. This chef knows his stuff and so good so much of it is NZ kaimoana with interesting seaweeds, fungi etc. Sommelier very knowledgeable without being pretentious. Every dish explained and again this was so well done, presentation and flavours magnificent- how they do this for such a reasonable price I do not know. Really appreciate the fact that the portions were correct so you didn't feel overfull at the end. Napier you are so lucky- if you're passing by this is a MUST!

An extraordinary dinner of the most delicious proportions. Really fed up with hearing poor feedback for this restaurant. I think these posts come from people with little, or no understanding of subtly of flavour, combined with culinary skill. We were pleased to encourage others to eat at Pacifica.

The wait was worth it. Having missed getting a booking on our last visit to Napier we snagged a table in this amazing restaurant on our recent visit. Service and food was fantastic. Chef uses the best local produce in the degustation menu.

The food was outstanding. Out of a possible 60 points,my partner and I could only separate by 3 points, with our highest score at 53.75. The 5 course degustation with accompanying wine choice was wonderful. We chose one of each menu, which changes regularly according to local product availability. A late wine change with one course was the only reason points were deducted for one set, and a slightly “bold” red for the other ..... a point we spoke to the very knowledgeable staff about. This is a food experience and I for one can highly recommend it.

I was so excited to go here, based upon reviews, and it did not disappoint. A lovely, interesting setting, and happy to be seated at the back with a view of both the sea and a wonderful back patio. We indulged In the five course menu with pairing. The first course, with abalone “soup” and a mousse on top sent us reeling with exceptional flavor and divine taste. Each wine paired perfectly. The kingfish with oat-based risotto was to die for! Also, the venison dish was incredible. the tasting was a bit uneven with the beef dish and the lemon fish were a bit uneven only as the tastes were separate and not united as a whole, as the other dishes were. the cheese dish to end was perfect. This is a fabulous place!!!
