Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Sunday brunch is the one to go to here. With the great value Sunday buffet breakfast, you’re sure to not be hungry afterwards! With a selection of other choice cafe foods, the service was quick, polite and presented extremely well. Totally recommend for a family,...couples or a business meeting.More

We had lunch at Cafe Ahuriri and were really impressed with the food and coffee. The Reuben sandwich was excellent, the fries were extra good, and the custard slice was delicious. The service was friendly and personal. The cafe was very busy but service was...good. It was a rainy and cold day but the cafe was cosy and warm.More

First time I had even been here before. After coming here I stand by never judge a book by its cover. I always assumed it was a small cafe, well wasn't I suprized. Upon walking in the Cafe was just big, warm and inviting. Nothing...but good vibes all round. My partner and I got breakfast. The food was absolutely amazing. My kids got milkshakes and they were delicious. The put a generous amount of flavor in their milkshakes. Very very happy and very impressed. Even food Items on the menu we reasonably priced. Well done team keep up the GREAT work big thumbs up 👍 👏 👌More

Easter Monday hoping for a delicious breakfast. Very disappointed. Told half hour wait on food. Not enough staff, no organisation, waited at least half hour. Unimpressed with the food. Soft toast and eggs barely cooked. Partner’s food presented in a messy pile and mushrooms tasted...like they were out of a tin. Ordered trim flat whites regular. Given large full fat FWs. 🙄More

Apart from having sparrows flying all over the place which isn't a very good first impression as they were crawling around the food cabinets, tables, flying low over our heads! It was a cold day but I'm sure it was colder onside the cafe as...they have an outside area where they leave a door open. Food in the cabinets looked over a day old, pies were shriveled up. Not very tantalizing at all.More

We needed a good breakfast before travelling back to Wellington. Cafe Ahuriri provided a very friendly and welcoming environment, great speedy service and a really great eggs Benedict with a few side trimmings. Highly recommended.

We had brunch here. The coffee and food is nice. Our brunch came out hot. The best scrambled eggs I’ve ever had because they are so light and fluffy. The best thick cut toast. Lots of seating available. The cafe is bigger inside than it...appears from the outside.More

We ordered one big breakfast and a extra large breakfast. Didn’t take long until the breakfast arrived, but I wish they had taken a bit longer. Bacon was just cooked and not even a little bit crispy, sausages were just cooked and the hash browns...and toast were soggy. And to top it off, neither off us got the slow roasted tomato that it mentioned on the menu. We didn’t realise the tomato was missing until the table next to us got their big breakfast and they had tomatoes. So at the end we mentioned to the lady behind the counter that the tomatoes were missing and she didn’t even apologise and just said she’ll let kitchen now. The other waitress was very unmotivated and you could tell that she didn’t want to get the tomato sauce we asked for. Definitely won’t come back to this cafe.More

Visited Café Ahuriri yesterday while in Napier for the weekend picking up our new dog (rehoming) The place is pet friendly and we sat in the lovely sunny courtyard enjoying an excellent lunch. Food was top quality, atmosphere was excellent, prices great and the bonus...was that we could take our new Border Collie with us too! Highly recommended – we’ll be visiting again next time we’re in the sunny Hawke’s Bay.More
