Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Some of our group were very disappointed with our meals at this restaurant. As the mains were very expensive our expectations were quite high but what was served was very lack lustre and tasteless - we would not recommend this restaurant to others

I had a fabulous night last night at Three Doors Up. The food was superb, the staff very friendly (sang me Happy Birthday) and the Chef paid for my dessert! Thank you so much for a memorable evening 🥰

Everything was overcooked. The fillet of beef thai salad was dry and like cardboard. The snapper was also criminally overdone and dry. We brought this to the attention of our waitress and nothing was done. We spent $189.00 on the most awful meal we have...ever had.More

The service was ok, lovely people, friendly..i ordered a mains seafood chowder at $33. Im still trying to imagine the entree, seafood chowder, at $23. as the main, had all of 1 scallop, 2 x 1 centimeter bits of squid, 2 1cm mussels, 4 little...prawns and 2 x 1 cm bits of fish and the fish was dark and not very pleasant (yuk actually) .would of been better just to of had a fillet of budget Hoki in it. The chowder didnt have no flavour. Im sorry to say, it was the worst iv'e ever had .One of my 2 friend's had the Linguine Pasta - Scallop she had three scallops and 4 prawns $42. said it was plain. and one had the Linguine Pasta - Chicken, Bacon and Mushroon. heaps of bacon , but there was lots of burnt bits of something in it.More

We have always patronised this local restaurant and have always enjoyed great service and excellent food. However last night service was slow , entrees and mains for two of our group came out together. The meals were only warm on arrival. Wait staff were polite...but would benefit from training. DisappointingMore

Visited for my nephew’s 18th birthday with a family group of mixed ages and food requirements. One of the party was coeliac and dairy intolerant and needs were catered for without any drama. All the meals were really nice, fresh, well cooked ingredients, lovely flavours....The T-bone steaks were enormous, the snapper was beautiful, the beef Wellington and crispy chicken were also great. Service was friendly and efficient without being intrusive and there was a nice atmosphere in the place. Definitely recommend and look forward to visiting againMore

Delicious dinner from a menu with a good variety of small and large plates, nice location and easy walk from our beachfront hotel, good bar and wine selections, and excellent service. Hostess was very friendly.

We had an amazing meal at this cozy welcoming Neighbourhood restaurant. The staff are fantastic and the steak was cooked perfectly. Seafood chowder also a highlight. Kids loved their meals and asked for seconds. We went 2 nights in a row!

It was a Thursday evening and my wife and I were looking for somewhere nice to have a meal in Napier. Standing in the street looking at the menu display when a group of locals went past on their way into the restaurant stopped to...tell us how good it was, so in we went. We weren’t disappointed, good service, and excellent food and drink. The sea food dishes, in particular the scallop chowder, were great. Highly recommended. If we didn’t live in the UK we’d be back, maybe we will.More

It’s been a while since I enjoyed a meal so much at a restaurant which has obviously put some thought into creating an atmosphere… a rarity these days. Offering candle lit tables, softened lighting and a few added touches like sheet music wallpaper (maybe because...I play an instrument so this resonated with me). The meals were superb, waitresses friendly and attentive without being too invasive. Highly recommend, a real treatMore
