Gosh what a lovely meal! Was very worried from recent reviews but our dinner for 6 people was fantastic, we were so well looked after, beautiful food - delicious goat curry, and the drinks selection is phenomenal! I'll be back for those stuffed mushrooms!

Without doubt the best Indian either of us have ever eaten. We only had 2 nights in Napier. Fortunately we dined at Indigo the first night which meant we could dine there again on our second night. The flavours were delicate, varied, fresh and flavoursome....All the dishes we ordered were amazing. The service was great. We would drive a long way for another dining experience at Indigo. We couldn’t recommend it highly enoughMore

Ordered an online take-out tonight. Impressed by the menu - especially the Balti, claimed to be based on the original Birmingham version (but with heat options? Balti is Balti right?). I have eaten Birmingham-based and numerous other Baltis and this was bloody miles off. Just...a peppery dish - not aromatic like it should be - and the chicken was fatty and tasted like the 'brown meat' that we give to the dog. I ate half of it before giving up - really disappointed. The rice was good, naans average and my wife enjoyed her Danshak. Overall a bit pricey and when I went to pick up I noticed that the restaurant seems to have lost its appeal since the upstairs dining area has gone. Should have gone to The Turmeric - always good.More

I can’t believe what had happened to this restaurant!!!! Used to be one of the best restaurant in Napier but now everything is going down the drain. I was a regular visitor of this place and used to love its food and service. Booked in...advance reached restaurant on time and we were made to wait saying someone else is sitting on our table and will be leaving soon. We gladly sat on couch and asked if we can order some drinks in mean time to which waiter gave us menu. We waited and then waited and then waited for nearly 30 mins and no one came to us. Finally I decided to go to the bar and tried to order some drinks. Same waiter said that we have to sit down as they don’t take orders over the counter and someone will come to us. We waited for another 10 mins before a waitress without any knowledge of drinks/wine came to serve us. Saw few people standing in bar and talking and giggling over some joke. For every question we ask either about drinks, food or situation of our table she said I will ask and tell. Anyhow we placed some drinks order and waited 15 mins to get to our couches. It’s been almost an hour and we were still waiting for our table. Then after same waiter came and said to us very rudely that we can go to our table. As we sat down he came and said to us we have to order fast and all together as restaurant is closing in 5 mins. This pissed us all of but we were hungry and no where else to go so we ordered our food. Which arrived pretty quick as if kitchen already knows our order or just waiting on our order so that they can cook and go. Every dish we ordered was terrible simply terrible. I had better tasting food on streets of india with poor hygiene standards than this ‘so called’ fancy restaurant in NZ. Entrees were undercooked and doughy... onion bhaji seems like they were literally taken out of refrigerator and served. Curries were bland as if no one bothered to Cook them properly seems like chicken in boiling water with salt. Nans were bunch of flattened dough. This reminds of last time I had dinner here everything was so immaculate the service, food staff knowledge about drinks and food. I wonder if there is any management change happened. Restaurant look more fancier than my last time visit. I would’ve been better if you guys spend money in hiring better/Professional staff and chefs than spending on fancy lights. Will never come back again or suggest anyone going there and I hope you don’t need a critique like me either who will show you a mirror of your own reflection.More

Made an online booking, half an hour later received a call saying they are all booked out and our table will not be in the restaurant and we will be seated on the couch. That didn’t sound too bad, so we went for it! The...table was an extremely uncomfortable very low seating couches with 4 tiny coffee tables joined together. If you don’t have tables, don’t take any online reservations! No one came for a very long time with menus so I went and got them myself for my table. We placed the order the starter were too pricey for the portions we got. Chicken Lasooni was quite nice, but the Lamb chops were hardly a chop but actually a chip size! The fish was average. For the mains, we quickly found out that the Chef definitely hated salt! There was no salt in the chicken noodles, no salt in the dal and none in the Balti chicken as well! The chilly cheese garlic naan’s description said it will be sprinkled with chat masala.. there wasn’t even any sightings of seasoning on it! The service was as bad as the food, maybe even worse.. the waitress came in at-least 3-4 times to clear our plates.. twice during starters and twice during mains.. “Still eating?” She asked! This was almost just 10 mins after mains were served! Appalling! Not quick enough to get menus and to serve us but quick enough to try and get rid of us we felt.More

Busy restaurant with two big Christmas parties in, so we were prepared for a wait. Waiting staff attentive. Starters promising, but main courses were disappointing. My Kashmiri naan had more flavour than any of our dishes, even though we ordered medium, and they got our...order wrong - we ordered 2 chicken and 2 lamb, got 3 chicken and 1 lamb. Didn’t bother saying anything as we had already waited an hour for them. Didn’t live up to expectations from other reviews.More
