Booked for 25 people. We had our own space in the restaurant which meant we could move around and catch up with all our friends. The service was very good, helpful and considerate of our various needs. Delicious food, feedback from our group was that the meals were delicious but there were some longish waits for some of the dishes. Overall a great experience and we will definitely be back.

The evening we had dining at Bollywood Stars was first rate in all aspects. The decor, service, attention to detail and extensive menu set the scene, and the dishes we chose did not fail to match our high expectations.
From the complementary amuse-bouche, to our shared chicken Malai Tikka, to our delicious mains- Saag lamb and Rarrah Meat, everything was delicious, tasty, generous and perfectly delivered, spice and heat-wise.
Fully recommend this top Indian restaurant, you wonāt be disappointed!

Having dined at the restaurant at its previous location over a year ago we were looking forward to visiting the new premises after a lengthy refurbishment.
We loved the space, decor and we were seated in one of the booths.
We ordered the veg platter for two (samosa, mixed pakoras and onion bhaji) which was excellent.
We initially ordered chicken madras and chicken saag but Chef Raman suggested one of his speciality dishes chicken ācafrealā (which is not on any of the online menus btw). He explained that cafreal is consumed widely in the Indian state of Goa and is influenced by its Portuguese history, and it was exceptional!! The saag and keema naan (spicy lamb filled) were equally delicious. We also noted that there were many other dishes that we have never seen on any other Indian menuās in NZ. Chef Raman has definitely encouraged us to try many of his other authentic dishes.
We fully recommend this top notch authentic Indian cuisine as it offers far more than the standard kiwi order of mild butter chicken or korma! We are looking forward to our next visit. Thanks Rob & Sam

Four of us had a long drive from Rotorua and looked forward to this dinner. Rahul helped us choose our dishes and did a great job while being very patient with our ineptitude. Every dish was fantastic. The lamb was incredible, the butter chicken savory, the sauce on the vegetarian kofta was spicy and delicious, and the garlic cheese naan was divine. Rahulās service was fast and attentive. We are all so happy we went there. It was worth the walk from town center.

This restaurant is amazing. The service was very fast & the food was the best most of our group have ever eaten.. During our short wait for food they gave us a complimentary fritter which was a nice gesture. I can recommend the mixed platter for 2 & the masala dosa.
The butter chicken was brilliant. Staff were all very friendly & helpful..
I would totally recommend having a meal at Bollywood Napier - you wont regret it.

The decor is spacious, and the staff were welcoming and attentive.
A good selection of options on the menu and the food was all tasty and well presented.
We liked the complimentary mini corn fritter to start the meal. Great idea.
My grandson had chosen this restaurant for his 7th birthday celebration with the family and when the waiter found out, he surprised us all by bringing out a beautifully presented, chocolate brownie with a scoop of ice cream for the lad.
Great service, we will be back.

Have visited a number of times for both lunch and dinner. Staff are very friendly and the food is delicious. The lunch menu is varied with offerings from curries to dosa. The naans are always fresh and mains are plentiful. Bollywood is a firm favourite.

We have finally found an Indian restaurant that can match those in the UK - almost!We very much enjoyed the papadums, and the mixed starter was a delight, albeit the samosa was a touch oily. Our mains were butter chicken - which was very tender albeit the sauce was a bit thin, and the Punjabi goat curry was flavoursome, albeit with a little fat. The rice was excellent as was the butter naan. All in all a very good Indian curry restaurant and obviously popular with the locals given the number of takeaways leaving the place!

We regularly visit this Indian Restaurant as the food is always so good. The service is always attentive without being intrusive the food always comes out in a timely manner. We have tried other Indian restaurants but always come back to this one.

Bollywood is slightly off the Napier tourist beaten track but well worth the short walk. Cutting to the chase, the food is totally delicious. A wide variety of dishes ate on offer, many being new to us. The service is excellent, and the restaurant itself is very nice. Highly recommended.

We were exploring the city and marine parade on our first evening in Napierit was the 19th jan . We saw Bollywood star was one of the few restaurants open after 8:30pm. We went there, and were greeted by the manager, she checked our vaccine passes and showed us to our table. She gave us the menus and then served us water. She was very helpful with answering our questions regarding the menu. We ordered the tandoori platter . Also we were feeling to have fish, but they had mole fish, so we passed it, my wife choose to have prawns the manager recommended the prawns masala. So we ordered prawns Masala and chicken biryani, with 4 rotis. ( we asked 1 roti to be served with the entree.) . They served the tandoori platter with one roti for my son. The portion sizes on the platter were very good. My son had the malai tikka and roti and he liked both of them. We had the tandoori chicken , seek kebabs and tikkas. They were tasty and juicy ans hot. The prawn masala turned out to very tasty too. We couldnāt even touch the biryani and had to do takeaway. We had it the next day and it was still very tasty, also the Arita portion size was very good.we had a few kingfisher beers , along with our food and they were poured in glasses and brought to us. The service and food was very good, and we would definitely go there , whenever we go to Napier.

I'm allergic (anaphylactic) to almonds and cashews, but I love Indian, so going out for a curry is always a bit of a gamble.
This place was great, I was a bit anxious when they assured me that my partner's butter chicken would be nut free as well as my dopiaza (butter chicken is rarely something that I can order and they seemed to have difficulty understanding our request at first - I have a good going Scottish accent) but both curries came out both nut free and delicious.
The naan breads were also fantastic.

Another fantastic meal and the best Indian food I have experienced in Hawkes Bay (and probably NZ). The Xacuti chicken was amazing (a Goan curry), as was the chicken Cafreal, Saag prawn and Karahi chicken... 10/10!
The restaurant is spacious, the staff are very welcoming and knowledgeable about all the dishes. Having been to many, many Indian restaurants around the World (UK, Europe, US, Aussie and NZ) I cannot recommend this place enough!
