In town on business, headed out to Ahuriri. The waitress was super friendly & helpful recommending wine to match the meal. Had the classic shrimp cocktail and a perfectly cooked steak. Will definitely come back!

Went here for dinner as it was so good last time. I thought the food wasn't as good as last time but the service is still good. Upstairs is good for quieter seating.

The chowder was warm and tasted like they put a can of smoked fish in it , the salt n pepper squid was kind of soggy.

The thirsty whale has a great seafront location in Napier and is ideal for a casual meal. Standard of food is extremely high and staff were consistently professional and friendly. Have no hesitation recommending this place for a meal or just a cold beer!
