We had a group of 9 and we all had a great dinner, I had the bone in serloin it was beautiful and well cooked. My wife had the lamb rump and she really enjoyed this as well. The inky downside which we didn't know...about was that around 10pm the changed the restaurant into a night club.More

If you want a great meal and a place to relax and spend an enjoyable evening with friends in Napier - this is the place to be. Great location, ambiance,a menu selection for all tastes coupled with excellent service, you won't go wrong at the...Thirsty Whale. The food was so good, we decided to go back three nights in a row, why risk having a mediocre meal when you know this place is the best? I highly recommend the Thirsty Whale for a memorable night on the town.More

We dined here last Fri and Sat nights and both nights the food was truly amazing, I had steak and it was cooked to perfection. Sheree worked fantastically well under so much pressure with trying to seat everyone who arrived without bookings, she looked so...calm and made everyone who arrived feel at ease in knowing that they would be seated as soon as possible. I commend all the staff who work there as they all kept the place running like a well oiled machine.More

The service was friendly, and willing, unfortunately I had ordered the soup of the day but an alternative was brought out as they had run out, they did apologise and the alternative was just as delicious I’m sure. The wait between entrée and main was...much longer than we expected but they were very busy and while we hadn’t asked they did come over and apologise for the wait. In the end the wait was worth it as the meals were great.More

6/5. Such a beautiful meal, and some of the nicest staff I’ve ever met. At the start we were seated near a fairly rowdy group of kids, and even though the restaurant was super busy, the staff moved us to a really nice table with...apologies! The decor is really cool as well- I’d recommend for friends and families. The restaurant is super large and can fit a party up to 40 I believe in their private room in the back. Would recommend (this place had the best steaks in Napier) and once again amazing service!More

EXCRUCIATING. Booking 7.30. Drinks and bread slow to come and wrong. Lovely waitress rectified. 8.40.... entree FINALLY arrived. 9.20 mains arrived after threatening to walk out. Food. Very average at best. Cold mussels. Weird tasting pork belly. I don't accept covid staffing issues as a...reason. If there are issues, tell us there will be a long wait and give us a choice. Horrible experience eMore
