Hamilton Gardens are beautiful so its a real shame about the cafe which is not very attractive and has signs telling you to not do this and not do that all over the place, very negative vibe. Even telling you to not put back half empty water bottles in the chiller and other ridiculous things. 6 of us had brunch... More

The café was very busy but it went surprisingly fast through the queue and it also didn't take long for the food to arrive. Great selection of food friendly stuff.

Nice view of the lake and surroundings. Service from FOH was prompt and friendly. Wasn't too busy when we arrived. Coffee was slightly too milky. Definitely changed since I last came here about 5 years ago when it was a tiny walk through shop as opposed to a cafe

Had a superb beef salad here today and my partner had the beef burger which was massive . Super location outside overlooking the lake in the gardens, this place gets very busy but there were plenty of staff buzzing around and we were well looked after, they don't play music here but the place has a great vibe about it... We had half-expected the cafe at the Gardens to have a limited menu of sandwiches and chips. Were we ever pleasantly surprised by the extensive menu options, the very reasonable prices and the lovely sitting areas on the edge of the garden lake. Even if you aren't visiting the gardens (and why not - it's free!), this place would be... More

Was quite busy when i arrived on a monday after 1pm. Went to order and it was a slow painfull process. The server took my order and then told me the kitchen was closed. She didnt register my bemused look or notice that others were ordering food just before me nor the chefs toiling beside her. The chef had to... More

This airy café has all kinds of hot and cold drinks. It also has a nice selection of pastries as well as light lunch items. It pricing is about what you would pay anywhere in NZ. Wonderful place to meet someone who didn't take as long as you did in the gardens!

While visiting a Hamilton Gardens, we stopped at the cafe. It's a bit on the expensive side. They do charge 50 cents for hot water, should you travel with your own tea bag. They have a nice, informal dining room. You can also carry food out. We brought picnic supplies with us and needed to buy coffees and water. It... More
