This a good pub with friendly service. The usual Speights beers went down OK but our Blue and Gold fish and chips were over cooked so the fish was soft not chunky as it should have been.

Warm and inviting inside on a cold July evening, with no need to book. Wait staff were excellent, getting our order through before a large booking arived. Menu choices as you would expect, and all meals tasty. Dont expect to order anything other than speights...More

Ive been here before and written nice things. But I don't think I'll try again. They didn't have the Appletons for the cocktail so cancelled that after waiting over 10 minutes. Fail. They didn't have the Auzzie Shiraz on the wine list so had another....More

I had a wonderful meal here! My pate was a very generous serving and divine; the battered fish to follow was beautifully cooked. The waiter assigned to our table was attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Nice ambience, warm and friendly. Thanks folks!

Will not be returning to this venue. While the wait staff were lovely, my steak was well over cooked so I asked if the meal could be done again. It took ages and then the meal was missing the yorkshire pudding, so I asked the...More

Came here with friends for a quiz night. Very busy inside with friendly staff. Got a table and ordered food. Came out pretty quick given how many people were there. That’s when the trouble started. Everyone’s food was terrible. Dry burgers on burnt (yet somehow...More

This lovely ale house was a surprise. The different areas that provided either the quieter dining area or the more entertaining area where the football was screened. Considering all the activity happening, we had a quiet area to eat and staff were quick and efficient....More

Regular Diners. The seafood chowder is amazing and the mussels too. The pate is delicious as well. Have tried most dishes and they are all delicious. Service is excellent and its beautiful and unique to see te reo Māori used also. Love this place
