Was visiting from out of town and my sister recommended the Rivers. With a plethora of fussy family members I was a bit unsure, but my doubts were we unfounded. We walked into a busy pub scene and were grateful we'd been told to reserve....The menu was huge, I was surprised at all the steak options. Our wait staff were really friendly and helpful, it was no problem to trade sides and change things around. I was also very impressed they offered gluten free, dairy free and vegetarian/vegan menus. Would wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant for their great service and willingness to help. Food was also great, good value and generous.More

Staying in Gisborne for a couple of nights, our motel host suggested The Rivers as a place a lot if his regular guests ate at. We are very glad we went as the menu was extensive and although busy, we were able to get a...table and some good satisfying food and a drink (I loved the bangers and mash with peas and onion gravy) - Irish themed so a Guiness was welcomed! Price was fair for what we had. The staff were pleasant and one of our waitresses very friendly and helpful with suggestions of things to do while in town. Would certainly recommend this place and would gladly come back if the occasion arose.More

Well being from England myself then yeah I would. Then you won't be disappointed. If you do then they will stick a 'reserve' on a good table for you. It's a great pub and the Guinness is very good every time. Also could... More
