Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A French cafe-bistro, step-through the portals of Maison Vauron – atmosphere of hustle-and-bustle like a backstreet in Paris, a slice of France in the heart of Auckland. For brunch, we had Plat du jour; very efficient, friendly staff - just a coffees & pastries or...more substantial lunch - excellent. Love the rounds of cheeses; tasty fromagerie and other goodies-French fare, French wine upstairs. Will visit again soon. (I have gait/walking challenges (stroke), wear a legbrace.)More

We came by for a work Christmas party. The event was organised through email, so we just had to show up and get seated. We had the group lunch and pre-ordered the meals. We chose the meals and it was shared on the table. We...were in the upstairs area within the wine cellar. We had a multi-course lunch, and plenty of food went around. The food was quite tasty. The charcuterie platter was quite nice, particularly the pate. We had the seared wagyu and the chicken in wine sauce, and both were cooked nicely. The cheeses were interesting, and we were able to take the leftovers. The service was good, but it did wane when they got busy, particularly when we were trying to get water for the table. Overall it was a really nice place for lunch. The food is quite tasty and they were very accommodating. They sell a range of different French wines upstairs and downstairs had a deli and cheeses as well as a small shop with interesting items like canned duck confit.More

We were here for a business dinner. We were a little confused as it looked closed when we arrived and we thought it might be an unpleasant experience. However, once the doors opened we were transported to France. The food was exceptional, however more descriptions...of what it was, would have enhanced our dinning experience. The staff were very attentive and helpful. We were introduced to a number of different wines, who knew id like Chablis! The surroundings were authentic and interesting. Totally recommendMore

Maison Vauron cafe - always so busy on Sat, a table for quick coffees & snack? Parked, window bar-table; croque monsieur with salad, delectable pastries, had coffees. I have gait/walking challenges (stroke); I wear a legbrace. Lively burble of conversation, as if you've stepped into...a side-street cafe in the centre of France. Consistently good, and quick service; now shopping for French wines upstairs and cheese to take home.More

Been quite some time since we'd been here. I have gait/walking challenges (stroke); I wear a legbrace. After Nz lockdown, yes, they were open. Hidden jewel among many of Newmarket's eateries - familiar, welcoming, buzzing, warm & cosy, like a French bistro. Cheese counter was...tempting. Also upstairs is an Aladdin's-cave of French wines and more... Ordered a quick snack and coffee. Aromas - very inviting when our order came, served with a small salad. Friendly service, easy amiable atmosphere, prices were reasonable. Saw the great blackboard specials too, we'll make a date to come again soon.More

Lovely upstairs environment for lunch French Style! Who doesn’t love sitting amidst some of the best French wines in the city! Unfortunately my duck was inedibly tough. But the veges were delicious. My partner had the snapper & it was perfect. Great service & great...wine. I feel my plate should’ve been discounted at least. $32 billed, when they served tough duck! This needed to be corrected with more than an apology. It’s always the putting right that counts. Hence the 3 starsMore

This magical restaurant, cafe and wine cellar is a piece of Provence in Newmarket Auckland. It is the first place we visit when we come to Auckland and the Duck with a glass of red wine (any reds are good) is our goto lunch. The...service is excellent and friendly, the food is delicious and tasty and I can’t think of a better place in Auckland for a European lunch.More

Stopped for lunch on a weekday at this busy restaurant. Had a little trouble deciding what to eat as it menu read so well and eventually settled for the plate of the day. The brisket was so tender and tasty - big winner but my...husbands duck was devine. What a fabulous lunch. The waitress helped decide on which wines as they dont have a wine list and after lunch we look around the numerous french wines on offer before deciding on a couple to take away. Cant imagine anyone would leave here disappointed.More

What an amazing experience! If you like good wine and food all served up with a heap of ambience then this is the place! Lunch became a several hour affair with so much wine to browse and taste accompanied by great conversation and food. Jean-Christophe...was the perfect host and took us through an informative virtual wine and history tour as we sampled and indulged in French fair - and he did this all while he was flitting between tables taking care of all his guests. The duck confit was delicious as was the onion soup. I really appreciated the low mark up on the wines served with lunch. What a great business model! We left happy with great memories along with a case of wine.More

Maison Vauron imports wine from France so all the staff have excellent knowledge of French wines. Frequently on offer are special functions with French food and wine sampling. A great place to visit

I wasn't aware of this great spot until a friend surprised me with lunch at Maison Vauron. As soon as you walk in the door you feel like you are in France. You felt very welcomed and the French accents are always great to hear....We ate upstairs in the the heart of the wine cellar which was wonderful. All the food was superb. Will definitely go there again.More
