This place used to represent value for money, but not anymore. Real cafe prices without the real cafe experience. Maybe management needs to remember we are paying customers and not part of their classroom experiment.

This cafe is located in the AUT campus and I got the feeling was more geared towards serving the campus than people walking in. Not the best coffee or service.

I've been coming here monthly since my last review, this cafe's first, just 1 year ago. This AUT student run cafe is a little find just up from Queen Street and across from the Auckland Art Gallery. The food is good value for the price...and always served freshly cooked out of the kitchen. The coffee is generally good, however with rotating baristas, occasionally it's not up to my high expectation and standard. I specifically miss the the double glass latte/FW service option. Check out Piko for a meeting spot and get a flavor of AUT's City Campus.More

I've now become a regular at Piko because I like the vibe. The cafe is "run" by AUT students in the Hospitality program and they do such a good job. The food is really fresh and well prepared, service is timely and friendly and there...are some great baristas making morning (and afternoon) coffee. If you have not tried Piko and are in the Upper Queen neighborhood, drop by and support the next generation of millennials who are honing their skills to work in tourism.More

There is nothing particularly special about the place. If anything, the decor is really simple but the tea there is pretty good. Good place to pop in and meet with friends.

You have to remember that travelling through life we sometimes find that we blame people for stuff, we get also get blamed for stuff! At Piko they are in the game of training, as long as you remember the first time you did something and...got it incorrect then of course you will not mind having the plate place down on the table a little heavier than normal, or of course the kitchen took a little longer to get the food out. They do get better so go back and give them another go............................................More

Piko is AUT's hospitality student training cafe and it is an urban find. The food is both good and plentiful, and as expected, what the students may occasionally lack in restaurant knowledge (for the moment), they make up with enthusiasm, good will and hospitality. While...Piko caters mostly to the AUT staff and student crowd, it is a great place for a coffee adjacent to campus and or brekkie or brunch. The cafe is a light-filled spot to enjoy some of the best prices for the food on offer in all of the CBD.More
