Don't waste your money here. This was a joke not a French restaurant. As someone who ate at loads of French restaurants in France this was just a joke to me. The escargot was out of a can and tasted horrible, the steak was the...thinnest and over cooked steak we've ever had, the duck was overcooked and don't get me on started on their overpriced bad wine. The service was horrible too, they left us with a waiting staff who was so new and had absolutely no knowledge of the food or wine. Overall we expected a lot and got really bad experienceMore

Enjoyed the escargot and the ratatouille. The fish was really nicely done but the beef flank was tough. Creme brulee was scrumptious but cheese selection was either a soft cheese or a hard cheese. Choose the hard one but not sharp enough for me but...they were generous with the portion of cheese though. Still a very French vibe on the food and service was excellent.More

Whilst not very impressed with Queen Street, we wandered up a side street and found Le Chef. Wow1 We both had absolutely delicious Croque Monsieur's and they were delicious. Great service and ambiance. A fantastic little easting place and highly recommeded.

We had been for lunch on our last visit to Auckland and could not wait to go again as we had such a wonder experience. This time we decided to do dinner. The restaurant was very hot and almost unpleasant. The service was not the...best as we had to chase the waiter every time we wanted something. Worst of all was the Lobster main. It was dried up and was almost impossible to get any meat from the lobster tail. Maybe about two teaspoons if lucky.. So disappointing after our wonderful lunch visit last time.More

We had dinner at Le Chef last night and had a lovely time. The food and service were both great, and we are keen to return.

Called in after a movie, nice and generous plate of charcuterie. Enjoyed immensely, although they could have a wider beer selection, sadly no Pilsners. A good place to meet up with friends for a drink.

Thank heavens for real food and not the fancy layers and colors which seem to occupy most modern chefs' presentations. Six of us sitting at a round table in a corner where our sense of humor and views on the world could not offend anyone,...what a joy. Even our table attendant seemed to appreciate my poor French. Standouts for me were the scallops, black pudding on mash, and the meat and pate platter, ample servings, and excellent flavors. Par excellence and merci beaucoup.More

If you want to feel like in Paris, this is the place to go. First of all, thank you to the two gents who looked after us so well. I asked for a quiet spot for our business lunch meeting and that’s exactly what we...got - a private space just for us! Food was a delight and the client we were hosting was just amazed with the platters and the service and the wine of course Le Chef will never disappoint you, I’ve been to their Bastille Day event 3 years in a row and again super amazing. Thank you guys as always, will be back again.More

We really enjoyed stopping here. The service was excellent, so was the food. One of our most memorable breakfasts. Thank you.
