Authentic Malaysian food

We heard good reviews about this place and decided to try it for ourselves. Good portions and we loved the ling fish beehoon soup, the claypot seafood, was tan hor gravy noodle dish and the curry puffs. The satay was ok, a bit tough for my liking and i prefer more seasoning. Overall delicious and authentic. We'll be back.

KK lives up to its legendary positive reputation

A sumptuous meal. Generous portions, tender, tasty, and filling chicken Laksa, preceeded by chicken satay and crispy sping rolls entrees that were well filled with fresh ingredients. Friendly and welcoming service. Highly recommended!

Excellent Malaysian food

KK Malaysia cuisine is amazing. The staff/owners are quite passionate about the food. Always busy during any of my visits.

Maintain Hygiene please☹️

I had gone for lunch today with my daughter. The place was busy with flies floating around esp their outdoor seating with the surroundings messy and unhygienic. This aspect to maintain hygiene of the topmost standard becomes all the more important in current times with the threat of Carona Virus. Additionally my daughter had a deal through Zomato of 20% discount on our bill which was refused by the lady at the counter vas the approval code from Zomato came SECONDS after we had paid the bill. The original deal through Zomato was 50% which the owner seems to gave changed without notice. KK standards have fallen as we have been habitual customers and even having takeaways and food delivered in the past. Not a happy customer.

Tiny portion for huge dollars

Take away expensive and container two thirds rice and 1/3 dish. Bean dish for 22 dollars had 13 beans ( counted). My husband rang the owner to complain and he was not at all apologetic in fact quite the opposite. No customer service. We use to eat here a lot but will never do so again. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Lunch with a bit of spice

Lunch with my daughter. I had the Laksa she went with the chicken curry. Both were full of flavor and decent portions. Staff were at-tentative and helpful. We will be back.

Great mee goreng

This was a lovely, busy little restaurant. Lovely Malaysian food. They highlight was the mee goreng. Vegetarians well catered for, and they are very careful with food allergies which was much appreciated.

Quality Malaysian

It’s the sort of place where the focus is clearly all about the food, we’ve been recommended by Malaysians as a great place for good authentic food and we weren’t disappointed. My favourite dish was the red beef curry - super flavoursome and all our meals were generous. Only criticism would be the spring rolls were quite oily as they’d been deep fried. Byo wine only, you can buy beer from them, service was good and not bad timing for being almost full. The table next to us were regulars and said they’d always enjoyed their visits so would recommend as a good night with decent food, but not the cheapest Malaysian you can get in auckland.

Need to up the small stuff...

Wait staff not attentative. Poor service and environment but good and reasonably priced food. I was out of water in the jug. When I put my hand up right in front of the wait stuff they could not see me. Then when they came over they didn't have the common sense to realise we needed a water refill.

Don’t get a take away

Hard to rate this properly. The food is exceptional and it’s great value but if you order a take-away, you will be waiting forever. They just told us 30 mins and was 60. Happens time and time again.

Wish I got a doggy bag

The meal was fantastic and if my hotel room had had a microwave I would have got a doggy bag- So much food for a great price I couldn't finish it. Will return on my next visit to Auckland.

If you are Malaysian and homesick please pay visit to this restaurant, they serve authentic HOKKIEN MEE and MEE GORENG! portion of foods could be bigger, I found the size was too small portion. overall was good

Malaysian Dinner

KK offers yummy Malaysian food, this is the first thing I would like to say. While we were a bit disappointed at the restaurant ambience and the service. The whole place looked a bit shabby with plain orange painted wall. The seating area seemed not clean and tidy. Outdoor heater provided the warmth, which is not bad. We have to mention that the spoon brought to us by the waitress was still with food stain. Staff were not attentive. Might come back only for the food.

New Curry Chicken and Sambal Kangkong Favourite in Auckland!

I have been to a few of Aucklands little Malaysian food places and to date this is probably the best in terms of authentic and delicious. I seldom use that word - 'delicious' in a review but this was good quality Malaysian cuisine. What I liked: 1. We only ordered 3 dishes - the beef rendang, the sambal kang kong and the chicken curry. 2. All three dishes were excellent. Rendang could have been in chunkier pieces rather than slices but each dish offered up excellent flavour, good portion size and if we were any hungrier that day we would have asked for another few bowls of rice to just absorb all the saucy goodness in each dish. Instead, we packed back all the leftovers and faithfully had them the next day -- it was that yummy. 3. As the other reviews point out - you don't come here for the ambience - its the great food. It would have been great if the owners dished out desserts like ice caching, pulot hitam and chendol as I would have loved to see and taste the quality which I am sure would have been noteworthy. All said, am definitely coming back for more and a chance to try the other dishes.

Queuing in the street

This popular little Malaysian eatery was packed with people, conversation, good food and friendly service. Our party of three shared, steamed chicken, mummy pork and the KK chicken dishes - and ended up filling two take-out boxes for the next day, so generous were the servings. Classic Asian cuisine - but sadly, they had sold out of Haianese Chicken Rice (and we were there at 6.30pm). Extensive menu - but no desert. We were glad we had booked ahead.
